Workforce Development Specialist

A Workforce Development Professional designs, implements, and manages programs that prepare individuals for employment, upskilling, or career advancement. The role involves collaborating with employers, training providers, community organizations, and government agencies to align workforce supply with labor market demand.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage workforce development programs to address skill gaps in targeted industries.
- Conduct labor market research to identify in-demand occupations and employer needs.
- Collaborate with employers to create customized training and career pathways.
- Support individuals through job readiness, career coaching, and employment placement services.
- Build partnerships with community colleges, training centers, and government agencies.
- Monitor program outcomes and performance metrics (e.g., placement rates, retention).
- Facilitate workshops on resume writing, interviewing, and job search strategies.
- Ensure compliance with state and federal workforce development regulations and grant requirements.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Education, Social Work, Business, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in workforce development, training, or employment services.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Familiarity with workforce programs (e.g., WIOA, apprenticeships, TAA, etc.).
- Experience with case management and employment outcome tracking.
- Proficiency with Databricks, Google Office Suite and workforce systems (e.g., Salesforce, CareerOneStop, or similar) a plus
