**Job Summary**

The Market Sales Manager is responsible for assisting the Market Director of Sales in setting direction and strategy in areas of overall account management, business generation and prospecting for the Market Sales team in the market as well as proactively soliciting business for all participating properties and brands. Assists in leading the team to achieve assigned revenue goals and responsible for developing and maintaining key accounts in market. Develops and manages relationships with multiple stakeholders internally and externally.

Performance management of the team - monitoring the team’s day to day sales activities
- Assisting Market Director of Sales with mentoring and coaching the sales team through 1to1s and joint sales calls.
- Undertaking special projects, for example Market Sales Blitzes.
- Identifies new areas and accounts to satisfy market demands and assists the MDOS in deploying the team against those accounts
- Identifying areas where the sales team require training support and development.
- Positively manages the impact of changes in stakeholder support/participation on Market Sales Team
- Ensure focus is on proactive selling and penetrating accounts.
- Assists Market Director of Sales in developing sales strategies to achieve individual stakeholder sales goals for Market Sales Team.
- Implements and manages training initiatives and involves the team in conducting trainings as appropriate
- Maintains accurate and up to date account data and reporting using account management system (Opera)
- Participates on Global Sales Organization account teams as needed.
- Assists with new hire orientation and appropriate new hire training to ensure associates can successfully perform their job.
- Utilizes MarrWeb for resources and information (Training Energizers, etc.).
- Leverages available eTools (eRooming Lists, eProposals, Passkey, etc.).
- Conducts site inspections.
- Creates contracts as required.
- Attends domestic and international trade show as appropriate
- Displays leadership in guest hospitality; exemplifies customer service and creates a positive example for guest relations.
- Establishes clear expectations for customers and properties throughout the sales process.
- Transfers accurate, complete and timely information to operating departments at the properties.
- Effectively resolves guest issues that arise as a result of the sales process. Brings issues to the attention of property leadership team as appropriate.
- Participates in guest satisfaction review sessions to identify areas of improvement. Takes ownership of results and shares recommendations to address guest service issues.
