Payment Engineering Manager is the resource responsible for workflows that move money for companies, from payment initiation and processing approvals to reconciliation and managing transaction issues.

This job title is a mid-level management level position in the operations department, that works alongside upper management to promote digital payments acceptance rate and ensure the best payment user experience.

**Responsibilities**
- Manage payment experience which will include monitoring payment processing systems and resolving payment issues and exceptions in order to provide an exceptional customer experience.
- Have full visibility and understanding of the available payment methods available on the market, identify the operational gaps in new offerings and set operational requirements for new projects to ensure the best customer conversion rate.
- Enhance payment success rates across banks, payment gateways, and partners and continually improve the same through operational initiatives.
- Manage the daily payments issues and own end-to-end accountability of failed case handling, including analysis of error codes, working with the internal teams and banking partners for potential fixes, and if required, communicating to customers via the customer service team.
- Maintain knowledge of industry best practices, trends, and performance benchmarks.
- Support the Finance team in Reconciliation and Merchant Payment tasks
- Manage cross-functional stakeholders across, customer support, Tech, Product, Business, Risk, Compliance, Legal
- Work with leadership, customers, and business partners to make sure the scope and direction of the roadmap and individual projects are driven clearly with concise updates to stakeholders.
- Manage data analysis team to prevent fraud and reduce chargebacks rate.
- Partner with our security team to identify gaps, examine opportunities, and model improvements against speed, cost, and acceptance.
- Collaborate with engineering to build-out critical tools, automate routine work where possible, and address longer-term or recurring issues.
- Keep central updated documentation repository of all reconciliation processes, internal procedures and financial risk register
- Design and monitor reports and dashboards that capture deep insights into our business through leading and lagging indicators, visualizations, and early warning mechanisms.

**Management Responsibilities**:

- Lead, motivate, and support a large team within a time-sensitive and demanding environment, including setup and implementation of career development plans for all direct reports and problem resolution
- Establish strategy and best practices for staff to ensure achievement of overall business objectives. Work with the Engineering team to translate payment strategy into specific annual performance goals and departmental objectives including KPIs, and to track them.
- Help develop processes, reporting and KPIs for disputes, chargebacks and other payments issues.
- Daily check of digital payments key performance indexes such as acceptance rate, return codes, payment methods spectrum.
- Submit reports to higher management regarding the payment's performance and ways to enhance it.
- Set long-term OKRs for the team and help provide a roadmap to achieve those OKRs and dedicate one of the goals to developing the team where you should build the right people and align their skills.

**PCI Compliance Responsibilities**:
Regularly communicate PCI compliance status & PCI standards to our merchants.

Manage a company’s PCI compliance where he will focus on the following compliance requirements:

- Ensure the PCI compliance applied across all departments.
- Support our internal stakeholders by establishing regular updates and communications.
- Manage third-party compliance documentation
- Manage quarterly PCI compliance reports and maintain partnering banks PCI programs

**Requirements**:

- Minimum 6 years of experience in payments.
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a senior.
- Proven strong knowledge in PCI-DSS and ISO 27001.
- Proven strong knowledge in Payment flows.
- Experience in managing a diverse group and training each according to company standards.
- Ability to establish milestones and keep all team members on task.
- Technical background is a plus.
