Engine Technician

The Engine Technician performs duties on a CH-47 aircraft.

**Duties/responsibilities**:
1. Performs unit-level aircraft engine maintenance and on-engine system/subsystem components.
2. Performs maintenance on the CH-47 engine using the specific aircraft Operators Manual, Maintenance Test Flight Manual, aircraft Check List Manual, and any customer or specific directives.
3. Diagnoses and repairs aircraft engine systems and components malfunctions according to the appropriate technical manuals, directives and safety procedures.
4. Uses common measuring tools necessary for performing the tasks described herein, precision measuring tools and alignment fixtures.
5. Performs aircraft engine operational checks. Tests, troubleshoots, and repairs aircraft engines using test sets and diagnostic equipment.
6. Assists Customer in the requisition and maintenance of shop and bench stock items for repair of aircraft engines.
7. Uses and performs operator maintenance on common and special tools, AGSE and PGSE.
8. Ensures that aircraft engine repair and maintenance activities and procedures among designated organizations are planned, coordinated, integrated, and synchronized to achieve established platform operational readiness (OR) rates IAW contractual requirements.
9. Responsible for the compliance with established maintenance systems, processes, procedures and reports that provide immediate situational awareness of platform OR rates.
10. Establishes daily aircraft engine maintenance operational goals, objectives and priorities for implementation in order to achieve stated OR rates.
11. Oversees the daily aircraft engine maintenance management of individually assigned aircraft in support of the Maintenance Lead, in conjunction with Logistics for related platform parts and spares.
12. Works within the maintenance quality control processes, procedures, and standards.
13. Directs inquires, investigations, and research analysis related to aviation engine maintenance of the aircraft and supporting maintenance activities to the Maintenance Lead.
14. Coordinates activities and requirements for maintenance operations support with the Maintenance Lead.
15. In coordination with the PC and Maintenance Lead, supports the Downed Aircraft Recovery Team (DART) processes and procedures.
16. Enters data, reviews, and updates aircraft maintenance forms and records.
17. Provides On-the-Job Training (OJT), coaching, and mentoring to RSLFAC personnel in all aspects of engine-related tasks as necessary.
18. Ensures that all related maintenance operations are conducted in a safe manner.
19. Other tasks as directed by the Maintenance Lead.

**SKILLS/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS**:
1. Eight (8) years' experience and two (2) within the last five (5) years as an aircraft engine mechanic
2. Successfully completed, and be qualified by the appropriate U.S. Government armed forces Engine Technician course or civilian equivalent training
3. Proficient in the use of computer-hosted interactive technical manuals, aircraft maintenance forms or similar aviation maintenance management system, and other aircraft related documentation
4. Professional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
5. Ability to effectively communicate with the customer in a professional and courteous manner
6. Possess a valid state or Government-issued driver's license.
7. Successfully pass an overseas deployment physical upon hire

**SKILLS/EXPERIENCE PREFERENCES**: CH-47 Engine Technician experience (Lycoming 714A)

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

HS diploma or equivalent required.

**EDUCATION PREFERENCES**:
1. Associate Degree
2. FAA Powerplant License

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (Certifications, Etc.)

Must be a US Citizen.
