Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented **Design Manager **to join our team In this role you will get to Serves as Lead Designer for all phases of a project. Provides technical guidance to project design and drafting personnel, and functions as liaison with client, suppliers, and contractors regarding design issues.
**What You'll Be Doing**:
- Coordinates execution of work assignments with respect to design approach, schedules, standards, budgets, and procedures to meet client scope of work requirements. Provides manpower estimates as required.
- Provides technical guidance to project design team in completing the most complex and difficult designs and layouts for complete systems and components of a project. Assignments typically involve design elements for which there may be no clearly established precedents and require anticipation of problems at the outset in order to provide appropriate solutions.
- Ensures compliance with required specifications, tolerances, safety factors, and industry codes, as well as client requirements and company standards.
- Performs specialized design computations and analysis within a given discipline.
- Performs interdisciplinary reviews and provides coordination of data to ensure a compatible design.
- Provides direction to a team of checking personnel, ensuring the mathematical accuracy of the drawings produced. Participates in checking orthographic (2D) and isometric (3D) drawings prepared by others.
- Understands and applies commonly used company design standards and methods. Provides input to the establishment or revision of guidelines and standards.
- Collaborates with Engineers and other engineering disciplines to ensure quality of design.
- Reviews supplier data and supplier/manufacturer drawings, as required.
- May train lower-level Designers in various procedures.
**What Required Skills You'll Bring**:
- Technical degree or certificate of completion from an accredited designer/drafter course (or equivalent) is preferred.
- Minimum of 15+ years of related experience (including some job leadership experience).
**What Desired Skills You'll Bring**:
- Requirements include strong PC and CAD skills, as well as knowledge of the capabilities and efficiencies of utilizing specific computer software to complete design assignments.
- Also requires the ability to perform in a lead capacity on a project.
