Senior Information Security Engineer

**Job Purpose**:To ensure that the hospital’s network and systems are secured. This is achieved by planning, designing, implementing, monitoring and optimizing all network and systems security solutions across the organization. In addition, the Senior Network Security Engineer will design standards and long-term strategy for the security of the network architecture based on industry’s best practice.
- **Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities**:

- Develop and enforce the network security policy and assure compliance with requirements of external security audits and recommendations.
- Design and deploy hospital’s network security architecture via current and future security devices and software.
- Maintain security integrity for production environment, as well as development/testing, quality-assurance and staging environments.
- Maintain, configure and analyze network & systems security platforms, including but not limited to:

- Firewall and network access controls lists.
- Network-based Intrusion Detection/Prevention Systems (IDS/IPS).
- Network Access Control (NAC).
- Vulnerability scanning systems and tools.
- Web proxy.
- Anti-Virus and mail gateway systems.
- Perform daily network security tasks and close related tickets.
- Monitor and test network security performance and provide statistics and reports.
- Perform daily network security and monitoring optimization.
- Perform vulnerability assessments and security testing, and work on remediation and mitigation of findings with network and systems teams.
- Performs analysis of network security needs and contributes to upgrades or new product selection.
- Manage and/or provide guidance to network members on security aspects.
- Provide support maintenance and troubleshooting of hospital’s security devices.
- Ensure that all implemented projects meet KAAUH security policy.
- Create and maintain documentation as it relates to network design & configuration, network mapping, processes and service records.
- Practice network security asset management, including maintenance of network component inventory and related documentation and technical specifications information.
- Prepare technical notes, technical specifications and presentation whenever needed.
- Interact and negotiate with vendors, outsourcers and contractors to secure network security products and services.
- Conduct research on network security products, services, protocols and standards to remain abreast of developments in the security industry.
- Conduct capacity planning and enhancement according to new technology.
- Participate and implement future IT development.
- Manage assigned projects and program components to deliver services in accordance with established objectives.
- Perform maintenance and upgrades during off-hours and provide 24 X 7 on-call support.
- Perform other job-related duties as required.

- Participates in and supports quality improvement and patient safety activities as an individual as part of multidisciplinary teams.

**Education and Professional Certifications/Licenses, **Experience**

**Minimum or Required**:

- Bachelor Degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering
- CCNA Security
- **6 Years of Experience**

**Preferred**:

- **Master Degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering.
- CCNP and CCIE.
- Certificates in AV, web proxy and next-generation firewall technologies.
- ITIL Foundation certificate
- **4 Years of Experience
