The Designer’s main responsibility is to provide direction on trends suitable for target customer groups for your brand. He/she will be ultimately accountable for the delivery and overall development of your collection on time; aligned with brand strategy, target prices, buying calendar, Moods and quality expectations agreed with the Buying team.
You will be working to ensure we are first in identifying emerging trends, and translating these into fashion stories our customers will feel passionate about; meaning a clear understanding of our customer’s needs and wants so that you can create products that fit seamlessly into their lives. Work closely with the Buying teams and our Suppliers to ensure you capture the season’s must-have pieces, bringing initiative and creativity to both product and process.
- Develop the range to make sure it evolves to meet the needs of the customer e.g. working closely with the buying and merchandising teams to draw conclusions from trading results, trials and emerging trends
- Delivering complete collections and tech packs for your brand
- Ensuring speed to market in identifying new trends, looks & fabrics.
- Ensure our customer trends are understood in all designs
- Collaborating with different departments to achieve combined objectives
- Following product development through from initial brief to finished samples.
- Developing special 'niche' ranges & concepts
- To be responsible for collating tech packs with clear graphics and specific instructions for each supplier.
- Responsible to work independently as well as part of a team
