**Role Summary**:
As a Logistics Coordinator specializing in Road Transport Operations, you will play a critical role in orchestrating the movement of goods through road transportation, ensuring efficient routing, timely deliveries, and smooth communication with various stakeholders. Your primary responsibility will be to coordinate road shipments, optimize transportation, and address any operational challenges to maintain a seamless logistics operation and provide best outcomes to DSV and its clients.
**Responsibilities**:
- Receive and review road transport orders for shipments, considering factors like pickup delivery windows, cargo type, suitable vehicle to transport the goods and vehicle capacity.
- Coordinate with the haulier, shipper and consignee to ensure accurate picking, loading, and preparation of goods for transport.
- Utilize routing software and geographical knowledge to plan optimal delivery routes that minimize distance, time, and fuel consumption.
- Adapt routes based on real-time traffic information and changing conditions.
- Assign hauliers to the appropriate lanes by providing them with clear instructions and necessary documentation for cargo collection.
- Maintain constant communication with hauliers to track progress, provide updates to the client, and address changes to schedules or ETA’s.
- Monitor the movement of vehicles in real-time using GPS tracking systems from owned assets.
- Address any delays, or incidents promptly to minimize disruptions.
- Act as a point of contact for hauliers, drivers, customers, shippers, consignees, border agencies, customs brokerage and internal teams to provide information on delivery status, delays, and potential issues.
- Negotiate pricing or changes to pricing due to changes in shipment details to ensure best market competitive outcomes.
- Manage customer inquiries and requests related to road transport shipments.
- Identify potential issues such as anticipated delays, breakdowns, route blockages, or weather-related challenges resulting in shipment delays by addressing it with hauliers.
- Collaborate with relevant parties to find solutions and minimize impact on delivery schedules.
- Maintain accurate records of dispatched orders and delivery times, any incidents via various reports and TMS software.
- Ensure compliance with Saudi transportation regulations, QHSE / HSE safety standards, and company policies.
- Manage and generate reports for shipment KPI and other details.
- Translate shipment information to excel, powerpoint and various resources.
- Analyze data to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective measures.
**Educational Qualifications & Certifications**:
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. Relevant certifications are a plus.
- Proven experience as a logistics Coordinator, Dispatcher, or similar role within road transport operations.
- In-depth understanding of road transportation regulations, safety protocols, and compliance requirements.
- Strong geographical and mapping skills, along with proficiency in using routing and GPS navigation software.
**Competencies**
- Excellent communication skills to interact with hauliers, drivers, customers, and team members effectively.
- Ability to make quick decisions under pressure and adapt to changing circumstances.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft office suite including outlook, powerpoint, excel etc.
- Problem-solving mindset to address operational challenges and unexpected situations.
- Flexibility to work non-standard hours, including nights and weekends, as road transport operations demand.
