**Job Summary**
We are seeking an experienced and strategic **Director of Risk** to lead our Risk Department. This critical leadership role will involve designing and implementing comprehensive risk management frameworks, ensuring portfolio profitability, and aligning risk policies with the company’s objectives. The Director of Risk will oversee all aspects of credit, underwriting, collections, and enterprise risk, while driving innovation and compliance across the department.

**What will you be doing?**
- **Strategic Leadership**:

- Develop and implement the risk management strategy in alignment with Rize’s overall business goals.
- Provide thought leadership in risk mitigation, enterprise risk management, and policy development.
- **Risk Analysis and Management**:

- Analyze and monitor approval rates, rejection rates, costs, profit margins, defaults, and write-offs to ensure portfolio profitability.
- Conduct portfolio risk assessments, including concentration risk analysis and diversification strategies.
- **Team Leadership**:

- Lead and mentor the risk team, fostering a high-performing and collaborative environment.
- Work closely with senior leaders across departments to drive alignment on risk strategies and priorities.
- **Policy Development and Compliance**:

- Review, revise, and enforce risk-related policies to maintain regulatory compliance and align with market dynamics.
- Ensure the effective implementation of underwriting, credit, and collection policies.
- **Technology and Innovation**:

- Collaborate with the technology team to prioritize and enhance tools for risk analysis and decision-making.
- Leverage data and AI-driven insights to improve risk models and portfolio performance.
- **Enterprise Risk Management**:

- Oversee enterprise risk strategies to mitigate macroeconomic, legal, and financial risks.
- Ensure timely identification and resolution of potential risks to safeguard the company’s operations and reputation.

**Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)**:
- Portfolio profitability metrics: Approval rate, rejection rate, and profit margins.
- Risk management outcomes: Defaults, write-offs, and risk concentration ratios.
- Efficiency and adoption of policy updates and risk management tools.
- Leadership impact: Team performance, satisfaction, and engagement scores.

**You're a perfect match if you have**
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- 6+ years of experience in risk management, including leadership roles in credit, collections, or underwriting.
- Proven ability to design and implement risk frameworks for financial institutions or FinTech companies.
- Strong analytical and decision-making skills, with a data-driven approach to problem-solving.
- Experience with AI/ML-driven risk assessment tools and technology-driven decision-making.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
