**Job Title**: Estimation Engineer (MEP & Construction Projects) **Location**: Dammam, KSA **Employment Type**: Full-Time **Company**:Safwat Al Khaleej **Job Purpose** To prepare accurate cost estimates, BOQs (Bills of Quantities), and tender submissions for MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) and building construction projects in KSA. The role requires analyzing project specifications, conducting risk assessments, and collaborating with stakeholders to ensure competitive and viable bids aligned with Saudi market conditions and client requirements. **Key Responsibilities** - **Cost Estimation & BOQ Preparation**: - Review project drawings, specifications, and scope documents for MEP (HVAC, firefighting, electrical, plumbing) and structural/civil works. - Prepare detailed material take-offs, labor calculations, equipment, and subcontractor costs. - Develop comprehensive BOQs using software (e.g., Candy, PlanSwift, or AutoCAD). - **Tender Management**: - Lead end-to-end tender processes for KSA-based projects (government, private, and mixed-use). - Coordinate with suppliers, subcontractors, and vendors for competitive quotations compliant with Saudi standards (SBC, SASO). - Analyze contractual terms, risks, and conditions. - **Pricing Strategy**: - Benchmark costs against local market rates, historical data, and inflation trends in KSA. - Incorporate logistics, customs duties, and local labor regulations into estimates. - **Technical Analysis**: - Evaluate MEP system designs for cost efficiency and value engineering opportunities. - Ensure compliance with Saudi building codes, safety regulations (Saudi Civil Defense), and sustainability requirements. - **Stakeholder Collaboration**: - Liaise with engineering, procurement, and project teams to validate technical feasibility. - Present estimates to management and clients, justifying cost assumptions. - **Documentation & Reporting**: - Maintain databases of material prices, supplier quotes, and project benchmarks specific to KSA. - Prepare comparative bid analysis reports and post-tender documentation. **Qualifications & Experience** - **Education**: - Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or Construction Management. - **Experience**: - 5+ years in MEP and construction estimation, **with KSA/GCC experience preferred**. - Proven track record in estimating projects >SAR 50M (residential, commercial, industrial, or infrastructure). - **Technical Skills**: - Proficiency in estimation software (e.g., Candy, Primavera, MS Project) and AutoCAD/Revit. - Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, macros). - Knowledge of Saudi construction standards (SBC, SASO), local suppliers, and logistics. - **Soft Skills**: - Strong analytical, negotiation, and presentation abilities. - Fluency in **English**; **Arabic proficiency is a significant advantage**. **Preferred Qualifications** - Certification: PMP, CCE, or RICS. - Experience with BIM-based estimation (Revit, Navisworks). - Familiarity with FIDIC contracts and Saudi government tender portals (Etimad, MERI).
