The Role

As part of the Aviation Design Centre, the Senior Airport Planner will play a key role in the development of airport masterplans across the Middle East region. This role will be integral to delivering innovative, sustainable, and operationally efficient airport planning solutions. The Senior Airport Planner will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to lead technical development, interface with key stakeholders, and support the design and delivery of major aviation projects.

Key Responsibilities- Lead the development of airport masterplans, including both airside and landside planning.- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including architecture, MEP, ICT, security, sustainability, and operations.- Produce and review technical deliverables including layouts, masterplans, and planning reports.- Engage with client representatives and stakeholders to ensure alignment of planning solutions with operational and commercial objectives.- Ensure compliance with ICAO, FAA, IATA, and GACA standards throughout project development.- Support simulation studies and capacity assessments for terminals and airfields.

Key Qualifications and Experience- Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Urban Planning, Aviation Planning, Transportation Planning, Civil/Transportation Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.- 10-12+ years of relevant work experience, ideally in large
- or medium-scale airport development projects.- Strong expertise in airport masterplanning, airside and landside facility planning, and support facility operations.- Solid technical delivery background, working across multidisciplinary design teams.- Experience in airfield, support facilities, and/or terminal operations planning.

Key Knowledge and Skills- In-depth knowledge of ICAO, FAA, IATA, and GACA regulations and standards.- Proficiency in AviPLAN, AutoCAD, and/or AutoCAD Civil 3D.- Working knowledge of terminal simulation tools such as CAST, AnyLogic, or similar platforms.
