Hse Specialist

**RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Provide HSE guidance and technical support to management and other employees regarding HSE policies, procedures, and regulatory compliance.
- Review and help making procedures for specific tasks to enhance safety of employees and work environment.
- Ensure compliance with HSE-related legal requirements, including submission of required permits, documents, and paperwork and maintaining required records and documents.
- Provide guidance and training for all employees to be able to handle any kind of any emergencies.
- Work with site management and other personnel in the development and implementation of site-specific practices and procedures designed to create a culture of safety and injury prevention, including Hazard and Risk Assessments, Environmental Impact Assessments, etc.
- Provide support to company site work that includes and not limited to site visits, provide required documents, permit receivers training and site preparation to ensure smooth workflow and stoppage free sitework.
- Document and investigate all work-related injuries and claims; determine root cause(s) and work with appropriate personnel to develop and implement corrective actions designed to prevent reoccurrence.
- Identify HSE training requirements and implement programs that ensure personnel are receiving required training.
- Lead and coordinate in HSE audits and resulting corrective actions.
- Provide accurate HSE data, HSE recommendations, trend analyses, and associated metrics as required.
- Co-ordinate Industrial Hygiene program and schedule all testing as required, including employee health monitoring.
- Manage the facility’s emergency preparedness and response team, procedures and emergency contact list.
- Assist in development/implementation of site-specific practices and procedures.
- Liaise with Corporate HSE Team to ensure common system and sharing of NOV Best Management Practices (BMPs).
- Provides guidance in ensuring the regulatory compliance of the facility waste management program.
- Responsible to ensure that safety of all employees is well secured, and the work environment is always in the best shape.
- Keep record of all HSE documents.
- Contribute to the creation and implementation of best & safe practice to improve occupational safety and safety culture among employees and contractors.
- Utilize HSE codes and standards to carry out tasks given in accordance to the company policies, procedures, etc. Communicate, integrate and cooperate with other discipline to achieve the common goals

**The Company**:

- Reports to the Regional Manager
- Work closely with in line manager (HSE MENA Director) to ensure latest information is captured & complied.

**QUALIFICATIONS/ EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS**:

- Technical Certification or Diploma in Engineering
- 3 + years minimum experience in HSE.( as HSE officer or specialist)
- Knowledgeable in all HSE aspects and practice.
- Hand on working/management experience on HSE.

**SKILLS & COMPETENCIES**:

- Experience in executing all HSE practice like and not limited to Fire Drill with all training, record and audit.
- Excellent communications and inter-personal/leadership skills are essential.
- Ability to manage the relationship with all parties.
- Knowledge of various fields of operation and documentations related to safety.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to plan and organize workflow in efficient manner
- Work closely with team members within the discipline to ensure the product compliance to the project requirements
- Good team spirits
- Knowledgeable in all HSE aspects and practice.
- Hand on working/management experience on HSE.
