Assistant Design Manager

This role main purpose to perform as a Central Service Resource in Store Design & Innovation Department through coordinating, supporting and insuring the completion of all Store Designs in accordance with agreed parameters, international quality standards, cost and Brand design / look and feel principles, schedule and operational requirements, while working with a cross functional team. Develop complete architectural design packages of pharmacies, clinics, special fixtures, merchandising displays and others in accordance with specific design briefs. Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders for the successful development of units designs and correct implementation.

**Accountabilities**
- Design projects full architectural design packages, including initial layout, detail design drawings, modifications to existing unit’s layouts, prepare design construction details.
- Prepare and execute 2D and 3D drawings of designed units.
- Providing Décor team Project Managers with the Design Documents to ensure proper implementation / execution
- Review drawings from Design Consultants to ensure that the design brief is properly executed, as per the Brands’ Guidelines and following the Landlord Design Criteria
- Conduct limited site visits to ensure Design Specific Criteria is implemented according to Design Directives
- Coordinate any design matters with Architectural and MEP Consultant, AF Brand and relevant Brands Principals.
- Assist and Answer Site Design Queries during the Site Implementation Phase
- Conduct Postmortem Review on design and merchandising equipment including joineries/ furniture
- Coordinate Electronic Archiving of relevant Design Documentation i.e. Drawings / Contracts / Specifications / Material Sample Boards
- **Concept Design**
- Participate & follow up on site surveys of new projects in coordination with Draftsman team, external design consultants (when applicable), contractors, Network development and Décor teams
- Oversee Legal Documents on Design Consultant appointments i.e. Design Contract / MEP Design Contract (when applicable)
- Initiate design briefing with relevant stakeholders such as Brand representatives and Design Consultants
- Ensure on Deliver Store (Pharmacies) and Clinics Concept Designs in accordance with Brand look and feel as well as Design Directives and guidelines.
- Participate on Design proposal and ensure the submission.
- Draft the preliminary layout for the store based on store format guidelines and as per the space contribution for each division.
- Prepare and present New Concept Designs to Internal and external stakeholders
- Manage Design Cost in Line with Budgeted cost allocations for individual projects (when applicable)
- **Detail Design**
- Work on Concept Design through Detail Design, coordinating 3 rd party Consultants on MEP Design, IT Design, Security Design, Audio Visual Design, Signage Design, Lighting Design and Structural Design
- Ensure of the implementation of General Store Layouts in accordance with Operational Functionalities i.e. Sales Floor Trading Requirements / Back of House Operational Requirements, guest circulation and departments segmentation
- Attend design queries and comments as per Landlord requirements,Décor team, External Brand Principles with relevant stakeholders
- **Pre Décor Process**
- Actively participate in the coordination of Material Specifications in the Scope of Works & Bill of Quantities for individual Projects based on Detail Design Packs on Architectural and MEP Designs
- Ensure of cost efficiency based on the cost studies for specified materials (Flooring, signage, wall finishes, etc.) and equipment (Light fixtures or others).

Employee duties are not limited only to the above-mentioned Accountabilities; he/she may perform other duties as assigned.

**Job Requirement**

**Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture

**Experience
- 3 Years of Experience in Retail Design
