Supply Chain Manager

**Responsibilities**:
- Direct/coordinate production, purchasing, warehousing, distribution, or financial forecasting or activities to limit costs and improve accuracy, customer service and safety.
- Examine existing procedures and opportunities for streamlining activities to meet product distribution needs.
- Review and update supply chain practices in accordance with new or changing environmental policies, standards, procedures, and laws.
- Implement new or improved supply chain processes.
- Oversee creation of processes and methods to gather supply chain data.
- Process data, identify problematic areas and suggest improvements.
- Design and implement necessary supply chain optimization projects.
- Manage activities related to strategic and tactical purchasing, material requirements planning, inventory control and warehousing.
- Analyze, optimize, and oversee inventory procedures.
- Direct the movement, storage and processing of inventory.
- Assist logistics process for the development of new products, inventory maintenance, manufacturing, delivery and returns on products.
- Develop material costs forecast or standard cost list.
- Keep detailed records, generate reports, and develop presentations to help management understand the logistics perspective.
- Build relationships within the company and with external parties, such as suppliers and distributors.
- Appraise vendor’s ability through on-site visits and measurements.
- Negotiate prices and terms with suppliers, vendors, and freight forwarders.
- Monitor supplier performance to assess ability to meet quality and delivery requirements.
- Monitor forecasts and quotas to identify changes or to determine their effect on supply chain activities.
- Meet with suppliers to discuss performance metrics, to provide performance feedback, or to discuss production forecasts or changes.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as production, marketing, sales, and quality control to identify or qualify new suppliers.
- Develop and implement procedures and systems to evaluate or select suppliers.
- Read and comprehend legal documents, such as contracts, import / export agreements, etc.
- Confer with supply chain planners to forecast demand and create supply plans that ensure availability of materials and products.
- Design and implement warehousing strategies for raw/production materials and finished products.
- Assess appropriate material handling equipment needs and staffing levels to load, unload, move, or store materials.
- Analyze inventories to determine to increase inventory returns, reduce waste and optimize customer service.
- Track KPIs and generate reports for supply chain performance.
- Define performance metrics for measurement, comparison and evaluation of supply chain factors such as product cost and quality.
- Document physical supply chain processes, such as workflows, cycle times, position responsibilities, or system flows.
- Participate in the coordination of product changes and new product launches to ensure orderly and timely transition in material and production flow.
- Develop procedures for coordination of supply chain management with other functional areas, such as sales, marketing, finance, production, or quality assurance.
- Identify opportunities to reuse or recycle materials to minimize consumption of new materials, minimize waste, or to convert wastes to by-products.
**Other Requirements**:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Business Management, Supply Chain Management or related field, Master’s Degree preferred.
- 5-7 years progressive experience in supply chain management in the manufacturing / food production industry, of which at least 3 years in a managerial role.
