Telecommunication Engineer

**DUTIES **AND** **RESPONSIBILITIES**

During the Tendering Stage, he/she is responsible for the review of enquiry documentation and the Scope of Work (SOW), perform pre-bid engineering, estimate man-hours and thus provide required inputs for bid preparation;
After awarding of Project, complete responsibility of correctness and accuracy of the Engineering Deliverables issued on the project deliverables. This responsibility includes guiding and training of discipline engineers as required and close coordination with other engineering disciplines and client's project team. The focus will shift from one of deep discipline knowledge to that of coordinating the various engineering disciplines involved in assigned projects;
Reviews the Scope of Work (SOW) to assess manpower requirements, gains approval for securing of necessary resources;
Plans and allocates various tasks to the Engineering and Drafting Teams and supervises and directs progress to ensure timely completion within approved manpower budget and to agreed quality standards;
Attends project kick-off meetings to gain appreciation and understanding of the projects and to provide engineering inputs;
Checks all project drawings, documentation, calculations, the MR, technical evaluations and manpower estimates to ensure accuracy and completeness;
Co-ordinates activities under own responsibility with other disciplines to ensure effective progress and avoid duplication of effort;
Collects inputs on queries, reviews them and passes to the Project Manager/ Project Engineering Manager for resolution;
Attends project progress/technical client meetings to report on activities and has some direct client contact for the resolution of problems;
Attends design review meetings to provide advice and expertise on Engineering aspects;
Co-ordinates the various Engineering inputs for consideration in project bid preparation;
Ensures all necessary completion action is taken upon project completion;
Mentors subordinate Engineers;
Compliance in accordance with HSE Engineering Standard;
Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures;
Participates in the planning and supervision of drawings and designs involving detailed analysis and design of FOC laying, FOTE, EPABX, DATA LAN, CCTV, PAGA-IPP, ACS, PIDS, video conference-VCS, VSAT, microwave, VHF, UHF, Structure Cabling etc.;
Determines telecom specifications, data sheets, design basis, materials, equipment, scope and 3D Model, detailed engineering drawings and deliverables including Schematic Diagrams,, Cable Schedules and Cable Drum Schedules, Interconnection Schedules, Equipment Lay-outs, Cable Routing and Lay-out Drawings, Cable Trench/Tray Lay-out Drawings, Installation Standard Drawings, and all other related required documents;
Support & supervise from conceptual to detailed design, QA/QC, procurement and delivery. Must maximize discipline efficiencies in bidding and project execution;
Evaluates and review all engineering work before being released including designs, drawings, code and integration with other disciplines;
Conducts site visits, liaises with clients and site personnel as required.

**QUALIFICATIONS AND WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS**

Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree or higher qualification in any engineering discipline from a reputable college or university;
Minimum of 8 years proven work experience in petro-chemical/oil and gas industry;
Experience in using the computer software for engineering, e.g. EDSA, ETAP, etc.;
Experience of engineering work in FEED/EPC projects;
Conversant with American, British and European Standards in telecom engineering;
Experience in delivering design of projects in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia or the wider MENA region.

**PHYSICAL AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS**

Must be in good health, physically fit & active;
Must have good analytical skills, interpersonal skills and team-working skills;
Must have excellent computer proficiency (MS Office - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, AutoCAD and other design/engineering software);
Must have thorough understanding of specific engineering discipline;
Must have thorough knowledge of interdisciplinary interfaces;
Must have positive attitude, very dynamic, highly motivated and hardworking;
Must be flexible and have ability to work under pressure to meet the demands of projects.
