Mep Project Director

We are looking for a MEP Project Director for our P&DS team, to be based on site on a major Program in Riyadh, as part of a PMC. The role is primarily the delivery of project management services related to the MEP design, planning, phasing, co-ordination and construction of the phased and timely delivery on a large-scale multi-asset mixed use development incorporating a significant tunnel and road gyratory.
**What this job involves**: Directing the day-to-day delivery of all MEP management tasks.

Develop and implement MEP strategies aligned with JLL and Client’s overall business objectives, considering sustainability and energy efficiency

Planning and directing the workload and advising on key aspects of the design and construction activities

Engaging all stakeholders and ensuring the timely progress of the works in a co-ordinated fashion aligned to agreed budgets

Manage and control budgets for MEP components of projects, identifying cost-saving opportunities in both CAPEX and OPEX without compromising quality.

Establish and enforce quality assurance processes to guarantee MEP systems meet regulatory standards and comply with contract documentation.

Manage several resources directly and indirectly guide others to ensure delivery is progressing.

Oversee and lead on the systems processes and procedures to ensure project progress is captured and reported upon to line management and client.

Review and approve the client brief into Project MEP Execution Plans to suit the specific requirements of the project.

Lead and Direct on the full MEP design management and manage design teams in the development of design solutions to meet the client’s expectations and budget.

Direct the management and handling of local government approvals process and assist or intervene to ensure receipt of timely approvals/permits.

Administer complex contracts, proactively managing and confirming the compliance of contractors/consultants to the contract terms and conditions.

Assist with the compilation of MEP tender documents and critically reviewing tender returns, contract negotiations, award of contracts and client reporting.

Develop and review by others project MEP documentation, programs, master budget etc.

Produce and review reports to suit relevant stages of the projects.

Deliver projects within the framework of risk, sustainability and environmental considerations agreed at the business case/client brief stage, while maintaining focus on time, cost and quality.

Build and maintain strong relationships with MEP contractors and suppliers,

Lead and direct on the monitoring and report on the main and specialist sub-contractor’s progress against the contract program.

Direct on the management of consultant teams to ensure that the contractor’s design is done in compliance with the contract.

Direct on the management of consultant teams to ensure that the built product is compliant with the contract.

Direct on the oversight and witnessing of Testing and Commissioning along with assisting the T&C Plan with the Contractor and Construction Supervision Consultant

Oversee the Construction Supervision Consultant and ensure they are undertaking their works in accordance with their contract.

Keep informed of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices, integrating innovative solutions into MEP designs and construction.

Undertake duties of a Project Director as required and directed

**Desired skills and experience for this job**:
Degree and Masters Qualification is essential.

Professional Memberships is required (Saudi Council of Engineers, IMechE, CIBSE, PMP etc).

+25 years extensive experience in managing MEP related design and on-site construction in the region.

Prior PMC and Construction Experience is essential.

Prior experience in Saudi Arabia is preferred.

Major international large scale project experience is essential.

Prior experience in role of MEP Director on major projects is essential.

Excellent written and verbal skills with a fluent proficiency in English.

International safety qualification / recognition an advantage but not essential.

Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with a proven track record of successfully managing and developing high-performing teams.

Strong background in Testing and Commissioning

Experience in sustainable power is beneficial

Proficient in MEP design software, knowledge of BIM (Building Information Modelling), and familiarity with local building codes and regulations in Riyadh.
