**Job Description and Qualifications**

**Summary/Overview**:
The Business Relationship Director (BRD) is a key leadership role and position of influence. The BRD is responsible for maintaining a focused partnership with senior business and functional leaders to bring together the collective thought-leadership and experience to plan, deliver, and optimize the digital solutions that enable our business strategies. BRD’s help build and execute multi-year digital enablement plans and facilitate the prioritization of digital technology-enabled initiatives to focus our collective resources on those initiatives with the highest impact on achieving business/functional goals.
- The Business Relationship Director - Middle East role, will align with the Vice President & General Manager of the Air Products Middle East business across UAE, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Egypt, Oman, Qatar, and Turkey, and also provides support to the Executive Leaders responsible for in-region joint ventures.**Essential functions of the role**:

- Engage Middle East Business Leaders (Air Products and Joint Ventures) to understand business challenges and opportunities, provide advice, and determine how the Digital Technology (DT) function can best serve the business
- Works with businesses/functions to ensure prioritization of DT supported efforts including updates and maintenance of the Enterprise Program Plan (EPP)
- Partner with DT to develop a multi-year technology roadmap aligned with business strategies
- Drives value capture and realization of demand with the business
- Provide consultation and guidance on overall project adoption to ensure return on investment
- Manages development of EPP for the Organization/Area of Responsibility and works with other BRD's to align on a consolidated, prioritized EPP
- Understands the technology trends to evaluate and determine value drivers.
- Collaborate with other BRD team to review any requests for multi-region synergies/alignment
- Leverage the network of DT resources to guide the business quickly and efficiently to value-added outcomes
- Provide project update/reviews and/or escalation discussions as required to senior business leaders
- Engage the appropriate architects/analysts, participate in initial discussions related to new ideas/projects/requests
- Engage DT Leadership to communicate level of resourcing needed to fulfill Business needs

**Skills and Experience**
- 15+ years of business and/or function experience in fast paced corporate/business environment (preferably in a lean, operations focused, global environment)
- Strong knowledge of business or functional strategy and operations for targeted area of support. Direct experience (minimum of 3 years) in the business or functional area is a strong asset.
- Solid understanding of project execution methodologies to include projects involving multiple functional groups, global scope, or equivalent complexity
- Ability to influence at senior levels in the organization
- Planning/organization skills
- Ability to work within a diverse cultural environment, both national and international
- Demonstrated interpersonal/team-building skills
- Work effectively with peers in a multi-disciplinary environment
- Good command of written and spoken English, Strong oral communication skills, strong computer skills
- Commitment to safety
- Minimum BS/BA - In technical or functional field of experience strongly desired

**Additional Qualifications & Attributes**:

- Serve as coach, guide, and co-author of preliminary and full funding Expenditure Authorization Requests (EAR)
- Co-Lead discussions with Senior Business Leaders (i.e., Business Approvers) for project approval, EAR funding requests
- High level conduit from business to DT. Interface between Senior leaders and DT to help understand and vet the DT requests
- Be aware of high-level governance board decisions, problems, and escalations. Consult as needed.
- Provide project update/reviews and/or escalation discussions as required to senior business leaders
- Engage the appropriate analysts, participate in initial discussions related to new ideas/projects/requests
- Engage appropriate analysts and develop reporting solutions to monitor "the pulse of the business", including reporting on major incidents, utilization of DT resources
