**Role Summary**
- Lead the research and deployment of Rubber and elastomer compound technology, Explore new material, Formulation, recipe process, technology, and approaches, Maintain product competitiveness and technology advancement in Rubber and elastomeric system
- Manage and develop the lab test methods Rheological, physical properties., Rubber & Elastomer Compounding ,raw material evolution in laboratory ,make sure the testing and STD is produced in a timely manner and is accurate, Identify and develop potential new products to complement and expand the company’s product offering, Check rubber and raw material relevant documents MSDS and TDS, COA Support to Define rubber and material test plan,Finish the test report and follow ECR procedure.
- Customer support in the compound formulation process, Develop specific formulations to meet the changing needs of customers, Evaluate alternative raw material sources that support justification in terms of cost and quality
- Analysis of curing time with Thermo couple test and DOE experiments
- Analysis of product performance and Keep up to date and aware of competition and evaluate competitor products, methodical troubleshooting; knowledge of Design of Experiments
- Communicate technical knowledge and experimental findings in both written and verbal Lead the Research and development in terms of trouble shooting in plant and method development. Technical solution of the project using, Designing, laboratory with New test method and Equipment or external support expertise in the areas of analytical science and raw material, Rubber, Elastomer selection & technology validation Replacement of Raw Material and Rubber & Elastomer grades
- Investigate and identify root cause analysis of any internal and external non
- conformances, product, in process failure and customer complaints and work with relevant departments to avoid re-occurrence.

**Skills**:

- Lead Rubber, Elastomer compound material, formulation, Recipe development.
- Developing rubber recipes for extrusion, injection moulding, compression moulding, extrusion and calendaring Process set up in plant.
- Experience with Product Failure and Support manufacturing in failure analysis Familiar with lab testing ASTM, ISO, DIN,JIS ISO / TS 16 949, ISO 9001 : 2000, ISO 14000, ISO 18000.

**Core Competencies**
- Must understand current manufacturing methods and best practices for rubber/polymer products **(e.g. PEEK, PPS, PTFE, PFA, HNBR, FEPM, filler selection)**:

- Provide support to the MD and leadership team in overall management of technology and development requirements
- Must possess good problem resolution, communication and leadership skills.
- Negotiating skills and the ability to plan and facilitate successfully to win-win results.

**Education / Experience / Skills / Knowledge / Personality**
- Bachelor Degree or higher in Mechanical, Material Chemical Engineering, Organic Chemistry, or an equivalent discipline combined with seven to ten years’ experience in industry.
- Minimum 7 year’s work experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Must be able to analyse and use data to continuously improve processes
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt / Lean Certification / 5S / Process Automation experience is an advantage
- Must be familiar with CNC machining and/or molding operations.
- Familiar with ERP or MES systems is an advantage
- Knowledge of Industrial Drawing/Drafting/GD&T and CNC program software tools such as CAD and CAM
- Warehouse/Inventory, Planning, and Supply Chain experience is an advantage

**Work Environment and Demands**

1 Equal balance between manufacturing shop floor environment and office environment. Some communication with overseas CDI sites and suppliers. Occasional international travel.

2 Some exposure to possible shop hazards including noise, fumes, heat, shop traffic, and heavy machinery. Some exposure to travel hazards.

3 Fast paced atmosphere/short lead times with multiple priorities.
