Fire Engineering Opportunities

We’re looking for Fire and Life Safety Engineers, Senior Fire and Life Safety Engineers and a Principal Fire and Life Safety Engineers to join our Fire Engineering team in Saudi Arabia. These roles will be based out of Riyadh.

We are looking for dedicated, reliable and proactive Fire and Life Safety Engineers to take on this exciting opportunity to work in Saudi Arabia, with the knowledge that your contribution is key to developing SOCOTEC’s presence in the growing market. It is important that you are able to work independently, as well as part of a wider team. You will gain the responsibility of managing, developing and driving the client sector, and identifying growth opportunities.

Working across a variety of projects both autonomously and as part of a wider team, tasks you will be required to undertake as part of your role include (but are not limited to):

- Provide continuous high quality fire engineering services to our customers, including but not limited to:

- Develop fire and life safety strategies and associated plans for various buildings and infrastructure projects
- Provide advisory support and carry out site visits during construction stage
- Prepare technical engineering analysis such as CFD and evacuation modelling, structural fire engineering, quantitative risk analyses etc, using programs such as FDS/PyroSim, Pathfinder, SAFIR, B-Risk
- Have a clear understanding of fire safety issues and provide well supported fire engineered solutions through the selection of appropriate methods and tools
- Liaise with clients, prepare fee proposals, manage projects from inception to completion
- Attend meetings with authorities having jurisdiction
- Discharge professional duties with honesty, integrity, impartiality and objectivity.

- A Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Engineering (mechanical, structural, civil or similar field)
- A Postgraduate fire engineering qualification (certificate, diploma or Masters)
- Full professional membership with an internationally recognised institution, such as IFE, NFPA, FIA, FPA, or working towards it. Chartered or Professional Engineer status is a plus
- Knowledge of the International Building Code, Saudi Building Code, NFPA codes and relevant local regulations in the Middle East (UAE FLS Code, QCDD Guidelines, GCC)
- Excellent English communication skills, both speaking and writing. Knowledge of Arabic language is recommended
- Excellent knowledge of software such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Bluebeam. Knowledge of Revit and AutoCAD is a plus
- At Principal level, at least six years’ experience in a fire engineering role
- At Senior level, at least four years’ experience in a fire engineering role
- At Engineer level, at least two years’ experience in a fire engineering role
