**Project Overview**:
Bechtel and its consortium partners are excited to begin hiring the completion teams which will finalize the monumental Riyadh Metro Project (RMP), currently estimated at 94% complete. The BACS consortium, which includes Almabani General Contractors, Consolidated Contractors Company, and Siemens, is responsible for the design, construction, train cars, and signaling as well as electrification and integration of the new lines to the rest of the system. Riyadh’s population of nearly 6 million is forecast to increase to 8 million by 2030. The new metro system will meet the demands of the growing population while reducing traffic congestion and improving air quality.

Senior Fire & Life Safety Engineer for project wide inspections (Compartmentation). Shall be responsible for the compliant inspections and monitoring of passive compartmentation system as per NFPA Code requirement & Saudi Building Code standards.

**BASIC QUALIFICATION**:
Bachelor Degree in Architecture Engineering or Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.

**JOB KNOWLEDGE**

The Senior Fire& Life Safety Engineer shall have a good knowledge of NFPA Codes in relation to installation of the works and documentation compliance. Knowledge of the Saudi Building Code is an advantage.

Minimum 10 years of demonstrated skill and knowledge in the following works:

- Able to interpret Fire Life & Safety drawings such as fire rated wall and barriers, record the noncompliance and coordinate with project engineer for resolution.
- Knowledge of Civil Joints system fire sealant works installation and inspection.
- Knowledge of MEP services penetrations fire sealant works, including the process of UL system and engineering judgements.
- Well versed in Fire Damper compliant installation and inspection process.
- Knowledge in Fire Rated Doors & Glass inspection, including its associated hardware.

**ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES**:
Senior Fire & Life Safety Engineer is mainly responsible for project wide field inspections for the passive fire life safety systems (MEP penetrations, fire doors, fire dampers and fire rated walls) and active systems as required by the project team. The Lead Engineer is also responsible for:

- Managing a team of 6 or 7 members for the compartmentation inspections.
- Developing the inspection schedule for all facilities across the project and ensuring that the schedule will meet the project milestones
- Close coordination with Engineering, Construction and Testing & Commissioning functions to ensure works are completed.
- Inspection and testing of the Active Fire Life Safety Systems as required.
- Coordination with the Consortium partners and participation in the Coordination Meetings.
- Tracking and developing metrics for inspection and reinspection of the punch items.
- Coordinate with the Fire Consultant for EJ development and implementation on site.
- Training the Site Engineers and other members as required in regard to Compartmentation requirements.
- Maintain list of critical fire engineering issues, manage and expedite resolution.
- Provide advice to project on Fire Code interpretation and engineering issues.
- Review Material Submittals and Shop Drawings, where required to support Engineering Function.
