**JOB TITLE**:Information Security Analyst

**MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB**

The main purpose of the security analyst is to protect the organization from cyberthreats and activities. They are required to administer and analyse security toolsets such is Network Detection and Response systems, Vulnerability Management systems, etc. This person will also be required to liaise with internal third parties to co-ordinate cyber responses as per the response plan. Additional tasks would include the administration and coordination of other activities around Information Security, Risk and Compliance.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS**
- To identify, detect, and mitigate threats.
- Incident handling and response with adequate recovery plans.
- To monitor, manage and administer security platforms. Reporting incidents to key stakeholders.
- To liaise with ICT teams and raise potential security issues with the ICT Manager: GRC & Information Security
- To coordinate activities related to risk, data privacy and compliance within Mediclinic.

**Requirements:Requirements**:
**REQUIRED EDUCATION**

**ESSENTIAL**:bachelor’s degree in computer science or IT.

**REQUIRED EXPERIENCE**

**ESSENTIAL**:3 years of experience in cybersecurity and security operations centre.

**DESIRED**:5 years experience in a cybersecurity and security operations centre

**REQUIRED JOB SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE**:

- Knowledge in the following: Firewalls, Intrusion detection and prevention systems, anti-virus and content filtering, URL filtering, authentication solutions, switches, routers, VoIP, DMZ
- Recognizes successful intrusions and compromises through review and analysis of relevant event detail information and follow Incident Handling and response measures.
- Launch and track investigations to resolve, recognizes attacks based on their signatures. Differentiates false positives from true intrusion attempts.
- Programming Skills
- Actively investigates the latest in security vulnerabilities, advisories, incidents, and penetration techniques and notifies stakeholders when appropriate.
- Performs tasks as identified in a daily task list.
- Conduct periodic Vulnerability Assessment and Reporting
- Configuration Review of security devices
- Must demonstrate ethical hacking and pen testing skills to detect, identify, and mitigate threats.
- Generate daily/weekly/monthly reports on SOC activity.
