Safety Officer

**1.** **KEY PURPOSE**:
The QHSE Manager will be responsible for safety, ensuring a safe place of work, documenting and reviewing risk assessments, maintaining the accident record book, ensuring compliance with HSE regulations. The QHSE manager is also responsible for ensuring the safe operation of each unit and provides a link between the company and those onboard.

**2.** **REPORTING RESPONSIBILITIES**:
To Maintain and implement a site management plan that shall remain in effect during the execution of the work.

Supervise the team of safety officers of contractor in coordination of safety activities.

Maintaining day to day management of the corporate safety section.

Review and approval of safety plans and safety procedures, including checklist.

Review of work permit on daily and weekly basis.

Coordination with the client regarding safety procedures on site.

Attending contractors, sub-contractors safety committee meetings, trainings, and pre-deployment safety orientation classes whenever they have new working personnel, responsible to make regular site inspection to monitor subcontractor’s compliance with safety personnel.

Inspection of all equipments which arriving on site in coordination with contractor and subcontractors including third party certificates to avoid any type of incident accident on site and proper safety procedure as per company and client satisfaction.

Reviewing daily reports regarding unsafe procedure on the job site to avoid recurrence.

Attending toolbox talks of contractors and subcontractors to ensure that they are discussing the site safety rules which are in place to safe guard all employees from any type of harm making sure all the workforce is understands the safety procedures.

Monitoring electrical work with safety precautions and providing awareness about safety to the workers in the projects to check and evaluate the effectiveness of the action taken to prevent the personnel injuries by contractor/subcontractors.

Conducting daily weekly and monthly EHS walk downs with all concern persons.

To advise on the implementation of Council Standards, Codes of Practice and Safe Systems of Work.

Liaise with Human Resources (and others who commission health and safety training) and to advise on health and safety training matters, and where necessary, assist in the implementation of training programs.

Gross Capacity: The gross capacity is the capacity shown in the crane’s load or capacity charts.

Educate all the work force regarding Emergency Response Plan and Emergency Fire Plan.

Quarterly mock drills of ERP and EFP making sure each and every employee understands the purpose of the plan and follow the instructions.

**3.** **MAJOR CHALLENGES**

Preparation and sign the Journey management plan prior to each journey.

Inspection of heavy equipment, cranes, backhoe, loader, forklift and bobcat

Monitoring the First-Aid Clinic and Ambulance, drills.

OJT (On Job Trainings), tool box talk, JSA, TRA, and internal audit.

It is the responsibility HSE & Journey Management Coordinator to do all that is reasonable to prevent personnel injury damage to property and protect all personnel from foreseeable work hazards including client personal and the general public in so far as they come into company.

Training and instructions to enable employees to perform their work safely and efficiently.

Conducting training seminars presentations.

Execute IVMS Monitoring; report all events and any tampering activities

High level education

Minimum 5 year service industry experience

Desirable:
QHSE experience in transport industry
