The Position

As
Patient Safety Group Lead for the GCC
, you will take on a
strategic leadership role with dual accountability
- serving as the
Local Patient Safety Lead for Roche Saudi Arabia
and
Group Lead for the Gulf countries
(UAE, Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain, and Oman).

You will shape and lead the
regional patient safety strategy
, build cross-country alignment, and lead a team of
Patient Safety Partners and Leads
to deliver integrated pharmacovigilance and risk management solutions across the GCC.

You will report to the
Head of International Patient Safety (IPS) Region – CEETRIS, Middle East & Africa (CMA)
and serve as a member of the
CMA Leadership Team
, representing the Gulf region in shaping the future of patient safety within Roche.

Your Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic direction and oversight of the pharmacovigilance system in Saudi Arabia, in collaboration with the nominated QPPV
  • Lead and develop the Affiliate Patient Safety (APS) team across the GCC — managing resources, driving performance, and supporting career growth
  • Shape local PV regulations and the broader GCC pharmacovigilance ecosystem, engaging with health authorities, trade associations, patient groups, and other external stakeholders
  • Drive implementation of safety solutions, launch readiness, and risk minimization measures across the GCC, ensuring timely, compliant, and impactful delivery to healthcare professionals and patients
  • Actively contribute to global safety initiatives, ensuring local realities are reflected in global strategies and that global solutions are implemented effectively at local level
  • Foster cross-functional collaboration with Medical Affairs, Regulatory, and other key partners to embed safety thinking into integrated brand and therapeutic strategies
  • Foster strong cross-functional collaboration with Medical Affairs, Regulatory Affairs, and other affiliate and regional partners to embed safety thinking into the patient journey

Who You Are

  • Degree in a healthcare-related discipline (e.g., PharmD, Pharmacy)
  • Licensed pharmacist by the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (preferred)
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in clinical research, pharmacovigilance, or drug safety, with at least 3 years in an affiliate or regional role
  • Proven leadership experience, including people management and stakeholder engagement in complex, matrix environments
  • Strategic thinker with strong influencing skills, cross-cultural awareness, and a passion for advancing patient safety
  • Fluent in English and Arabic
