Job Title:- Field Specialist III - Drilling Fluids (FLD)

Location:- SAU

Role Type :- Contract

Role Summary:-

Drilling Fluids Engineer (Mud Engineer) responsible for running drilling fluids operation at the rig site from drilling surface-hole sections to completing and delivering the well.

Essential Responsibilities:-

  • Forecast, order, and maintain drilling fluid chemicals' stock at the rig site to avoid disturbance in operation.
  • Ensuring drilling fluid is mixed properly as per the drilling fluid program specifications.
  • Always maintaining fluid volumes to avoid operation disturbance.
  • To maintain fluid properties while drilling as per drilling fluid program by performing fluid testing at the laboratory and recommending chemical treatment and practices.
  • To stay on top of communications between rig crew, client, and office.
  • To run hydraulic simulations and share daily reports and end of well recaps.
  • To provide all the support needed related to any fluid activity at the rig site especially when encountering hole problems.

Essential Requirements of the role (Experience / Skills / Competencies):-

  • Years of experience: More than 5 years.
  • Field of experience: Offshore experience in KSA of more than 5 years.
  • Technical Skills: Competent in high performance WBM, OBM, Heavy Brines, Specialty chemicals, Engineering Software
  • Soft Skills: High communication skills with the client, fluent English in speaking and writing
  • Tools or Software (Required / Preferred): Daily Reporting Software, Hydraulic Simulation Software
  • Education Qualifications: Batchelor's in Engineering or Science
  • Industry Background or Experience (Required / Preferred): Worked as a Mud engineer in KSA Offshore for more than 5 years, have experience with Drilling problems commonly faced in KSA
  • Target Companies: Preferred someone with Premium Mud company experience
  • Off-limits Companies: NA
  • Required Accreditations / Qualifications / Certification / Licenses including Driving License: Basic & Advance Mud School, passed Aramco interview as Critical Mud Engineer.

Desirable attributes of the worker (Experience / Skills / Competencies):-

7-year experience in KSA Offshore

Experience in Flat Rheology OBM systems

Platform batch drilling from surface hole sections experience
