Supervisor - Dive Operation

Job Purpose

The Dive Center Supervisor – Dive Operations is a site-based position responsible for supporting the Dive Center Manager in overseeing the daily operations of all diving and underwater tourism activities at the designated site.

The role ensures that all dive center operations — including dive excursions, instructional courses, and dive-related sales — are conducted safely, efficiently, and to the highest professional standards. The Dive Center Supervisor also serves as the Senior Instructor, responsible for maintaining instructional quality, leading the dive team, and supporting the overall guest experience.

Key Responsibilities
General Operations

• Report directly to the Dive Center Manager and assist in the smooth day-to-day management of the dive center.

• Support the Dive Center Manager in the development and coordination of dive centers across other assets.

• Assist in supervising and guiding the dive team to ensure performance excellence and adherence to operational standards.

• Collaborate with the Dive Center Manager and relevant departments to address sensitive environmental considerations in the development and operation of marine and underwater tourism activities.

• Operate remotely when required and attend meetings as needed.

Establishment of Dive Center – Pre-Opening

• Work alongside the Dive Center Manager to support the setup, development, and operational readiness of the dive center and its facilities.

• Collaborate with internal departments during the delivery stage to ensure targets are met, operational phasing is initiated on schedule, and all components are delivered according to design and quality standards.

Establishment of Dive Center – Post-Opening

• Ensure diving operations meet the highest safety and quality standards, with safety always being the top priority.

• Support the Dive Center Manager in maintaining professional conduct across all dive and training activities.

• Ensure all courses are delivered in compliance with PADI standards and that instructors maintain best practices in training delivery.

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records for all dive center activities, including courses, equipment logs, and excursions.

• Lead by example, fostering a professional and motivated work environment.

• Build and maintain effective working relationships with management, staff, and guests.

Policies, Systems, and Procedures

• Follow all operational policies, systems, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure consistent and controlled dive center performance.

• Support continuous compliance with RSG and departmental protocols in all areas of operation.

Safety, Quality, and Environment

• Enforce all safety, quality, and environmental management policies to guarantee employee and guest well-being.

• Ensure full compliance with legislative and PADI safety requirements.

• Promote a culture of environmental awareness and marine conservation within dive operations.

Continuous Improvement

• Identify and recommend opportunities for operational improvements, process optimization, and cost efficiency.

• Contribute to the ongoing enhancement of dive center standards, aligning with international best practices in marine tourism and guest experience.

Job Stakeholders

Internal: Dive Center Manager, Operations, Sustainability, SEZ, HR, and supporting departments.
External: Guests, PADI and other certification bodies, suppliers, local regulatory authorities.

Job Requirements
Qualifications & Experience

• Active and renewed PADI Instructor certification with at least 5 specialties.

• Proven experience across multiple diving destinations.

• Minimum of 500 logged dives and 50 certified students across core PADI courses.

• Strong background in dive operations, hospitality, and safety management.

• Experience in dive retail, equipment management, and marine conservation initiatives.

• Must hold a valid Fit to Dive medical certification.

Desirable Skills

• Fluency in a second language (Arabic preferred).

• Skills in social media content creation and promotional posting.

• Underwater photography or videography proficiency.

• Knowledge of marine life identification (fish, invertebrates, reptiles, and mammals).

• Technical workshop or dive equipment maintenance experience.
