Job Description

  • MaintainsthestandardsofperformanceasdetailedintheDepartmental Operations ManualtoensuretheefficientoperationofthedepartmentinaccordancewithHotelPolicy.
  • Ensuresthatguestneedsandexpectationsaremetbyprovidingaconsistentlyhighstandardoffoodpreparationandpresentation.
  • Assistsinestablishingtheidentityoftheoutletbyprovidingthestandardsoffoodpresentationrequiredbyeachoutlet.
  • Isawareofthemethodofpreparationandthestandardrecipeforeverymenuitemsin hisparticularkitchenandfollowstheproceduresat alltimes.
  • Maintainsandcleansallworkareas,kitchenequipmentandutensilstothehighstandardsofcleanlinessandhygienerequiredbythehotel.
  • Co-ordinateswithcolleagueswhenevernecessaryregardingoperationalproblems.
  • Isfamiliarwiththeoperationalproceduresof allequipmentinthekitchenandoperatestheminthecorrectmannertoensurethemaximumefficiencyandpersonalsafety.
  • Participatesinregularmeetingsandbriefingsasmaybescheduled.
  • Understandsandabidesbyallsafetyrules,emergencyproceduresandfirepreventionregulations.
  • ToassistintheimplementationofthevariousfoodsafetyandhygienestandardsincludingHACCPandotherMunicipalityregulations.
  • ToworkcloselywithHygieneOfficerinimplementingallhygieneandsafetyprocedures.
  • Participatesinanyscheduledtraininganddevelopmentprogramthatmayimprovepersonalordepartmentalstandards.
  • RespondstoanychangesintheFoodandBeveragefunctionasdictatedbytheindustry,companyorhotel.
  • Toreportfordutypunctuallywearingthecorrectuniformandnametag.Tomaintainahighstandardofpersonalappearanceandhygieneandadheretothehotelanddepartmentappearancestandards.
  • Toprovidefriendly,courteousandprofessionalservice at alltimes.
  • Tomaintaingoodworkingrelationshipswithcolleaguesandallotherdepartments.
  • Toreadandunderstandthehotel'sEmployeeHandbookandtoadheretothehotel'srulesandregulationsandinparticular,thepoliciesandproceduresrelatingtoFire,Hygiene,HealthandSafety.
  • Tocomplywithlocallegislationasrequired.
  • Torespondtoanychangesinthedepartmentasdictatedbytheneedsofthehotel.
  • Tobeflexibleandextendjobdutiestocarryoutanyotherreasonabledutiesandresponsibilitieswithinthejobcapabilityasassigned,includingredeploymenttoalternativedepartments/areasifrequired,tomeetbusinessdemandsandguestserviceneeds.
  • Toattendtrainingandmeetingsasandwhenrequired.
