Senior Architectural Design Engineer

Senior Architectural Design Engineer is responsible for the design, development, and coordination of architectural plans for building projects in Saudi Arabia, ensuring they meet client expectations, local regulations, and sustainability standards. This role involves collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, including engineers, planners, and contractors, to deliver aesthetically appealing, functional, and code-compliant building designs that cater to Saudi market needs.

Responsibilities :

• Design architectural plans for residential, commercial, and institutional buildings in Saudi Arabia, ensuring compliance with local Saudi Building Codes (SBC) and international standards.
• Develop conceptual designs, detailed drawings, and 3D models using architectural software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and SketchUp.
• Integrate aesthetic, functional, and sustainable elements into the design, addressing factors such as climate, culture, and local materials.
• Ensure that all architectural designs are fully compliant with Saudi Building Codes (SBC), zoning laws, and other relevant regulations.
• Stay updated on regulatory changes in Saudi Arabia and ensure that they are reflected in all designs.
• Collaborate with government authorities to secure necessary approvals and permits for building projects.
• Work closely with structural, mechanical, and electrical engineers to ensure seamless integration of all building systems within the architectural design.
• Participate in design coordination meetings to resolve any conflicts between architectural designs and other engineering disciplines.
• Collaborate with project managers and contractors during the construction phase to ensure that architectural designs are correctly implemented.
• Prepare and review detailed architectural drawings, blueprints, and construction documents that meet project specifications and quality standards.
• Ensure that all project documentation, including drawings and models, is accurate and delivered on time.
• Coordinate with the drafting team to develop construction-ready documentation, including plans, elevations, sections, and details.
• Apply sustainable design principles to reduce the environmental impact of building projects, considering factors such as energy efficiency, natural lighting, and material selection.
• Incorporate renewable energy solutions, passive design strategies, and eco-friendly materials into the architectural design where possible.
• Ensure that all designs meet sustainability certifications and requirements, such as LEED or Esti Dama (when applicable).
• Provide architectural support throughout the project lifecycle, including during construction, to address design-related issues.
• Conduct site visits and inspections as needed to ensure that construction aligns with the architectural design intent.
• Offer value engineering solutions to optimize design costs while maintaining design integrity and quality.
• Collaborate with clients to understand their vision and project requirements, translating them into design concepts.
• Prepare and deliver presentations to clients, showcasing design concepts, 3D models, and renderings.
• Address client feedback and revisions to ensure satisfaction and alignment with project goals.
• Conduct quality checks on all architectural designs and drawings to ensure they meet high standards of accuracy, functionality, and safety.
• Identify and mitigate potential design risks, such as non-compliance with regulations, material limitations, or construction challenges.
• Ensure proper documentation of design decisions and changes throughout the project.

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Architectural Engineering, or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred.
• Experience: Minimum of 10+ years of experience in architectural design, with a strong focus on building projects in Saudi Arabia or the Gulf region.
• Certifications: Registration as a licensed architect or relevant certification (e.g., LEED AP, PMP) is an advantage.
• Proficiency in architectural design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, 3ds Max, Lumion).
• Strong knowledge of Saudi Building Codes (SBC), and international codes such as IBC (International Building Code).
• Expertise in sustainable design, energy efficiency, and green building certifications.
• Excellent creative and technical problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Strong communication and presentation skills for client interaction and coordination.
• High attention to detail and commitment to quality.
