Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled MEP Engineer to oversee and manage all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems across various commercial projects, including cafés, bakeries, chocolate shops, restaurants, and retail outlets. The ideal candidate will ensure efficient and safe operation of HVAC, refrigeration (where applicable), lighting, power distribution, plumbing, and fire protection systems while maintaining compliance with local codes and delivering high-quality project execution.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Mechanical & Refrigeration (for F&B Projects)
  2. Supervise installation and maintenance of HVAC and ventilation systems.
  3. Manage refrigeration and cold storage equipment when applicable (display fridges, chillers, freezers).
  4. Ensure proper operation of compressors, condensers, evaporators, and piping networks.
  5. Reduce equipment downtime and optimize energy consumption.

Electrical

  1. Design and supervise power distribution systems (MDBs, SMDBs, DBs, UPS, generators).
  2. Oversee lighting installations for customer areas, preparation zones, and back-of-house spaces.
  3. Ensure proper implementation of emergency power, grounding, and electrical safety.
  4. Coordinate electrical requirements for specialized equipment (coffee machines, ovens, mixers, POS systems, etc.).

Plumbing & Fire Protection

  1. Supervise water supply, drainage, and wastewater systems.
  2. Oversee installation of fire protection systems, including sprinklers, pumps, and alarm systems.
  3. Ensure the correct installation of grease traps and drainage systems in kitchens and food preparation areas.

General Duties

  1. Coordinate with architectural, civil, interior design, and kitchen design teams.
  2. Review and approve shop drawings, coordination drawings, and material submittals.
  3. Conduct site inspections, testing, and quality control checks.
  4. Troubleshot technical issues during design, construction, and operational stages.
  5. Ensure compliance with Saudi codes and standards (SBC, NFPA, SEC, ASHRAE).
  6. Manage MEP contractors, suppliers, and equipment vendors.
  7. Prepare reports, As-Built drawings, and preventive maintenance schedules.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or MEP Engineering.
  • 3–8 years of experience in commercial projects (cafés, bakeries, restaurants, chocolate shops, or retail environments).
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC, refrigeration, and commercial kitchen utility requirements.
  • Solid understanding of lighting, power, plumbing, and fire protection systems.
  • Familiarity with Saudi building codes, Civil Defense requirements, and municipality regulations.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD (Revit preferred).
  • Strong site supervision and problem-solving skills.
  • Valid driving license preferred.
