Key Responsibilities

  • Design and document infrastructure architectures for OT environments including compute, storage, networking, segmentation, and cybersecurity.
  • Collaborate with plant engineering, cybersecurity, and IT teams to understand control system and production requirements.
  • Design and validate network segmentation models.
  • Select and design secure connectivity solutions between IT and OT networks (e.g., data diodes, firewalls, DMZs).
  • Provide architecture diagrams, BoMs, and specifications for industrial-grade switches, servers, firewalls, and HMIs.
  • Lead infrastructure design for edge computing platforms, historian servers, and industrial virtualization (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V, or Azure Stack Edge).
  • Ensure infrastructure designs meet real-time processing, availability, and redundancy requirements for OT environments.
  • Document disaster recovery, backup, and system hardening procedures for critical OT systems.
  • Evaluate and integrate OT protocols (e.g., Profinet).
  • Contribute to vendor assessments, site surveys, and technology standardization efforts.
  • Coordinate with Network and Infrastructure teams for delivering projects
  • Coordinate with vendors and suppliers for delivering projects
  • Provide technical support for OT environment

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Industrial Automation, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in infrastructure or network design within OT/ICS environments.

Strong understanding of:

  • Industrial network design (Layer 2/3, VLANs, QoS, redundancy)
  • Industrial firewalls (e.g., Fortinet, Cisco)
  • Secure remote access (VPN, jump servers, access control)
  • Familiarity with IEC 62443, NIST SP 800-82, or ISO 27001 applied to OT.
  • Hands-on experience with industrial-grade hardware (e.g. Cisco IE).
  • Knowledge of virtualization in OT (VMware ESXi, hyper-converged platforms).
  • Strong documentation and communication skills for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Industrial firewalls and network switches (Cisco IE, Fortinet Rugged)
  • SCADA/DCS vendors (Siemens, Schneider Electric)
  • OT-specific monitoring
  • Backup and recovery (Veeam, custom solutions for OT)
  • Virtualization and storage (Dell Edge Gateways, HCI)
