Job Summary:

The General Procurement Engineer is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and procuring materials, equipment, and subcontracted services required for construction and execution projects. The role ensures timely delivery of project requirements in line with approved specifications, budgets, and schedules. The Procurement Engineer collaborates with projects team , vendors, and other departments to ensure effective procurement processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review project BOQs, technical drawings, and specifications to determine procurement needs.
  • Source qualified suppliers and subcontractors based on project requirements.
  • Prepare and send Request for Quotations (RFQs), evaluate technical and commercial offers.
  • Negotiate prices, terms, and delivery schedules to ensure the best value for the company.
  • Issue purchase orders and follow up on material delivery and logistics.
  • Coordinate with engineering, planning, and site teams to ensure procurement aligns with project schedules.
  • Ensure that all materials and services comply with technical specifications and quality standards.
  • Maintain accurate procurementrecords, supplier databases, and documentation.
  • Manage and resolve procurement-related issues such as delays, quality disputes, or shortages.
  • Support the contract team in vendor agreements and compliance with procurement policies.
  • Monitor market trends and price fluctuations for key materials.
  • Prepare regular procurement reports and updates for management.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (preferably Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil).
  • 7+ years of experience in procurementwithin construction or execution projects.
  • Strong knowledge of construction materials, equipment, and services.
  • Experience with project execution timelines and procurement scheduling.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office and procurement systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
  • Fluent in English (spoken and written); Arabic is a plus.
