We are looking for a highly experienced Project Manager to lead shutdown and turnaround projects within the Oil & Gas or Petrochemical sector. The ideal candidate will have a strong engineering background and proven expertise in handling both static and rotating equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the full lifecycle of shutdown and turnaround projects — from scope definition, through planning, execution, to restart and hand-over.
  • Define and manage the scope for static equipment (e.g., pressure vessels, heat exchangers, columns) and rotating equipment (e.g., pumps, compressors, turbines) in a petrochemical/oil & gas environment.
  • Develop, maintain and control detailed project schedules, resource plans, budgets, and cost forecasts, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary teams including engineering, maintenance, operations, HSE, contractors and vendor/supplier organisations to deliver within time, cost, quality and safety targets.
  • Drive risk identification and mitigation — including schedule risks, technical risks (equipment reliability, integrity), HSE risks and operational restart risks.
  • Ensure that all safety, health, environmental, regulatory and quality standards are strictly adhered to during planning and execution of shutdown/turnaround activities.
  • Oversee procurement, logistics, material readiness, tooling, equipment mobilization and lay-down for shutdowns/turnarounds to ensure execution readiness.
  • Manage the work-pack creation and approval process, permit to work systems, pre-shutdown and post-shutdown walk-downs, pre-start checks and ensure all jobs are properly defined, documented and executed.
  • Monitor contractor performance, vendor deliverables and subcontractor scope — driving them to meet agreed milestones, quality standards and scope adherence.
  • Perform daily/weekly project progress reviews, report key performance metrics (schedule adherence, cost variance, man-hours, safety KPIs), escalate issues and propose corrective actions.
  • Manage change control: evaluate scope changes, assess impact on cost/time/quality, obtain necessary approvals and update project baseline accordingly.
  • Conduct post-shutdown/turnaround reviews and lessons-learned sessions; ensure continuous improvement by incorporating findings into future events.
  • Ensure seamless hand-over back to operations/maintenance, including completion of documentation, mechanical completion sign-offs, start-up readiness and root cause resolution of any deferred work.

Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical preferred).

  • Minimum 10+ years of experience in Oil & Gas / Petrochemical projects.

  • Prior hands-on experience in shutdown and turnaround projects is mandatory.

  • Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills.
