The
Facility Management (FM) Engineer
plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation, maintenance, and optimization of building systems and facilities. This position combines technical expertise, data-driven analysis, and operational planning to maintain high standards of safety, reliability, and efficiency across all assets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Facilities Management Operations:
  • Apply experience gained from working in FM companies to manage, maintain, and optimize building systems, ensuring facilities operate safely and efficiently in line with organizational standards.
  • CAFM System Management:
  • Operate and manage Computer-Aided Facilities Management (CAFM) systems for tracking maintenance activities, monitoring asset performance, and scheduling preventive and corrective maintenance tasks.
  • Electrical Systems Oversight:
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, backup generators, and building automation systems. Conduct inspections, troubleshoot issues, and implement solutions to ensure uninterrupted operation.
  • Mechanical and General Maintenance:
  • Plan, execute, and oversee mechanical and general maintenance activities across facilities, including HVAC systems, plumbing, elevators, and other critical infrastructure. Ensure preventive and corrective maintenance is carried out efficiently.
  • Planning, Scheduling, and Reporting:
  • Develop maintenance plans, resource schedules, and operational checklists. Prepare detailed reports, dashboards, and presentations on asset performance, maintenance status, and operational KPIs for management review.
  • Data and Systems Management:
  • Maintain accurate records of assets, maintenance activities, and service histories. Utilize data analysis to identify trends, optimize resource allocation, and improve operational efficiency.
  • Technical Documentation and Presentations:
  • Prepare technical documentation, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and presentations for internal and external stakeholders. Ensure compliance with safety regulations, technical standards, and organizational protocols.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:
  • Work closely with contractors, vendors, and internal teams to coordinate maintenance, procurement, and project execution. Support continuous improvement initiatives and implement best practices in FM operations.

Minimum Qualifications / Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in
    Electrical, Mechanical, or Facilities Engineering
    or related discipline
  • Certification in
    Facilities Management
    (IFMA, IWFM) or relevant technical certification
  • Experience with
    multi-site operations
    or large-scale building systems
  • Familiarity with
    ISO Facility Management Systems)
    ,
    ISO 9001
    , or other relevant standards
  • Knowledge of
    energy management and sustainability initiatives
  • 7–9 years' experience

Required Skills and Competencies

  • Proven experience in
    facilities management operations
    within FM companies
  • Hands-on proficiency with
    CAFM systems
    (e.g., Maximo, or equivalent)
  • Strong knowledge of
    electrical systems
    , mechanical maintenance, and general building operations
  • Solid
    planning, scheduling, and reporting skills
  • Competence in
    data management and performance analysis
    to drive operational improvements
  • Proficiency in
    MS Office applications
    (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and report/presentation preparation
  • Understanding of
    health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards
  • Ability to
    work independently
    and as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, and communication skills
