Job Summary

We areseeking a Lead Exploration Systems Analyst to join Geologic &Interpret Applications Division of Exploration ApplicationsServices Department. The Geological & InterpretationApplications Division (GIAD) core responsibilities include supportof a large user base in Exploration with wide range of geoscienceapplications technologies and solutions spanning the whole upstreamspectrum from Exploration to Development. As Oil and Gasexploration and reservoir development in Saudi Arabia has moved tohigher levels of complexity and more challenging frontiers GIAD iscommitted to acquire and develop state of the art technologies andto hire the bestinclass geoscientists to meet the growing energydemand. The Lead Exploration Systems Analyst primary role is todevelop workflows that integrates multidisciplinary upstream datautilizing mainstream Geological and Geophysical (G&G) softwareplatforms such as SIS Petrel and Landmark DecisionSpace Geoscience(DSG) among multiple other specialized software. The candidate willwork closely with exploration and development geologistsgeophysicists geomodelers and petrophysicists leveraging an indepthexperience in industryleading G&G software to conduct advancedbasin and reservoir characterization studies.

KeyResponsibilities:

  • Deploy and support cuttingedge technologies and solutionswhile constantly developing expertise in evolving areas ofresearch.
  • Adopt and apply Industry 4.0 (IR.4)and Artificial Intelligence (AI) techniques to automate iterativeand laborious tasks and workflows wherever feasible.
  • Build advanced geoscience workflows that integratemultidisciplinary data to discover delineate and develop oil andgasbearing reservoirs with maximum return on investment.
  • Continuously acquire knowledge of specialized geosciencesoftware to build the most accurate subsurface models in theshortest turnaround time thereby significantly reducingcosts.
  • Collaborate with geoscientists toconduct exploration and reservoir characterization studies applyingbest practices to achieve a collaborative disciplined andwellgoverned work environment.
  • Develop anddeliver customized geoscience training in specialized areasincluding basin modeling geomechanics rock physics quantitative andprestack seismic interpretation inversion and advanced seismicattributes.

Requirements:

  • Willingness to relocate toDhahran Saudi Arabia.
  • Hold aBachelors degree in Geology Geophysics or Computer Science. Anadvanced degree is preferred.
  • Possess at least10 years of recent industry experience working on geoscienceprojects studies and operations.
  • Demonstrateintensive knowledge in a wide range of geological and geophysicaldisciplines including exploration basin modeling play analysisprospect generation reservoir development and characterizationsedimentology and stratigraphy structural geology and petroleumsystem analysis.
  • Have masterylevel knowledgeand experience in building and sustaining live earth models bothstructurally and petrophysically. Familiarity with conformalmapping techniques to incorporate structural updates to earthmodels around deviated and horizontal wells isessential.
  • Be an expert in handling andautomating field geologists operational workflows such as wellplanning well log interpretation Geosteering and the use ofseismicbased data to assist in these workflows to achieve moreaccurate well placement.
  • Possess knowledge ofdealing with 2D and 3D seismic data conducting interpretationbuilding well ties velocity models seismic attributes inversionspectral decomposition AVO AVA and be wellfamiliar withquantitative and prestack seismic interpretation.
