The Manager of Business Development is responsible for the execution of business development strategy. This includes developing and implementing new business opportunities, managing customer relationships, and driving revenue growth.

Design and implement strategies to attract cruise lines to Cruise Saudi terminals.

Responsible for promotional activities leading to revenue production resulting from sales by travel agents and higher passenger numbers on ships visiting Cruise Saudi Ports.

Drive business development opportunities for terminals and Cruise Saudi assets.

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities

Business Development:

  • Executes the Destination Experiences' commercial and business development strategy. Design and implement strategies for business development to ensure long-term relationships are consistent and continue to grow by corporate objectives.
  • Work to identify, vet, and negotiate new partnerships that help drive Destination Experiences' profits.
  • Support management and growth of our B2B partnerships, evaluating new verticals to enter and preparing pitch materials to be able to engage and close new business.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the initial and continued success of all opportunities.
  • Work with partners and stakeholders to promote Cruise Saudi and the cruise industry nationally and globally.
  • Enhance promotional effectiveness and facilitate the development of marketing strategies.
  • Lead seminars and FAMs; participate in trade shows, etc. as needed.
  • Identify and pursue new market opportunities.

Customers:

  • Develop a framework to manage cruise line accounts.
  • Develop incentive programs to drive business development and long-term cruise line contracts.
  • Lead the B2B sales team in generating new business for the terminals, shorex, and assets.
  • Manage customer relationships and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Gather, analyze, and report on customer feedback. Drive improvements identified through the feedback.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed CRM and report on customer engagement regularly.
  • Support management of various associations.

Travel Agents:

  • Provide travel agents with online promotional materials and collateral as requested by the Cruise Lines or by strategic partners and associations.
  • Make recommendations to enhance marketing strategies.
  • Educate travel agents on features and Cruise Saudi products and provide sales and marketing assistance (e.g. develop effective sales and marketing plans).
  • Support cruise lines in identifying and managing sourcing markets from the KSA and GCC as needed.

Property:

  • Identify business development opportunities for Cruise Saudi assets (other than cruise calls and shorex), including commercial tenants, partnerships, parking, and other revenue drivers.
  • Manage commercial tenants.
  • Supports negotiations with commercial tenants.
  • Provides support in developing business cases for property investments.

Reporting and analysis:

  • Responsible for analyzing and reporting on commercial performance, providing regular updates to senior management on key metrics such as revenue, profitability, customer satisfaction, market share, and market developments.

Experience

  • 10+ years of experience in a commercial and business development role

Education / Qualifications / Languages Needed

Education

  • 10+ years of business development and contract negotiation experience
  • Strategy and business model development background (preferred)
  • Cruise, travel, tourism, or asset management experience preferred.
