Responsible for thesafe dockings/undockings/shiftings of all vessels in DSY.In co-operation withthe Pilots/Movement Master examines the particulars of the vessels draft, ballastdistribution, condition of mooring equipment, the personnel and equipment to bedeployed.

He prepares the Dock toreceive the vessel, dock block arrangements, calculations as required, arrangesthe position of the Cranes, mooring trolley cars, stoppers etc., and ensuresthat the proper numbers of Riggers are on board the vessel in accordance withsafe Operating Procedures and departmental Operating Procedures.

Constantly monitordocks for any damage, wear and tear and report any issues immediately. Thisincludes the docks in totality, i.e. including hull, cranes, machinery,powering, services, etc.

Follows the yard's Dockingschedule regarding Dock Works, hold daily meetings with your team and supervisorsfor updates and progress of work related to any dock repair, vessel repair, loadingand unloading of vessels that can affect the time management of the activityand dock berthing allocation.

Follow instructionsfrom his line managementEnsure safe workingwithin the department and that a good positive attitude towards safety isadopted with regular notifications, alerts and toolbox talks.
