OVERALL JOB PURPOSE:


Manages Ma'aden projects Engineering function related to Project Management by being part of the Project Team and/or PM&E Core Team providing the required consultancy/specialty support starting from FEED, through EPC and commissioning phases of the projects.

**Enterprise Project Management Function

  • Ability to adopt PME Enterprise Project Management Function in managing project engineering activities for all MAADEN projects.
  • Enterprise Approach is adapted

Project Scope Development

  • Assets in developing project proposals that includes defining project work scope and schedule requirements.
  • Establishing the work scope, preparing the budget and schedule, planning the work, providing technical direction, and reporting the work status relative to Process activities.
  • Leads the project engineering function for new and existing plants and/or projects. Assumes project level responsibility including requirements and design definition, tradeoffs analysis, risk assessment and technical leadership.
  • Ensure revision of project scope and communicate finding to project manager.

**Performance Indicators

Project Management

  • Works with a multidiscipline group of engineers and technicians providing technical services.
  • Serves as project manager on short/long term projects and is associated with project engineering.
  • Provides advice and staff guidance in Project Engineering related areas.
  • Does physical plant inspections and plan major changes/ upgrades/ repairs of plant equipment to be installed.
  • Feedback from groups, individuals and outcome of the project.
**Feasibility

  • Determines technical and cost feasibility; acts as advisor to program management and customers in the planning and execution of present and future projects. Prepares and presents process engineering sections of proposals and cost estimates.
  • Feasibility studies done, tabled and approved for implementation.

Planning and Scheduling

  • Plan, schedule and provide work direction as required for preparation designs, possess reports, correspondence and related data and assurance the efficiency, adequacy and conformance of overall objectives of all project phases.
  • Quality of C&S project planning and schedule activity through project life cycle.

Data Collection

  • Formulate the design basis by collecting, analyzing project information and data relative to operating requirements, process, economic considerations and such other pertinent factors.
  • Document against company policies and standard.

Hazards

  • Contribute on HAZOP / PHA or similar studies at appropriate stages in the development of the project.
  • Ensure implementation of company policies and standard.

Assessment & Evaluation

  • Review and interpret plans, specifications, material proposals and construction methods pertaining to project works to ensure compliance to contract requirements, national or international codes.
  • Provide Technical support and review Project Management document through project cycle.
  • Ensure performing of required Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) and Site Acceptance Test (SAT) according with Ma'aden Engineering Standards.
  • Document against company policies and standard.

Training

  • Provides technical and coaching training for company junior Project Engineers.

Monitoring

  • Provide project monitoring of EPC and construction contractors to assure adherence to design documents and contract documents based on Ma'aden Engineering Standards (MES).
  • Assist Project Manager with documentation controls, reports, deliverables, and analysis of project costs.
  • Document against company policies and standard.

Construction & execution

  • Participate in construction activities, precommissioning, commissioning and function test activities for the new projects.
  • Assist in the plan preparation acceptance testing, and evaluation of field conditions, design changes, progress evaluations and reports.
  • Follow and inspect the construction progress of assigned projects assuring conformance with design specifications, codes.
and standard, recommend or confirm design changes material and equipment substitutes.

Communication

  • Liaises with other project partners to achieve integrated planning across the whole program.
  • Assure the team communication is as excellent.
