What will be your responsibilities?

  • Install, extract, and relocate servers, storage, network, and telecommunications hardware and cabling
  • Perform handson technical support, inspections and maintenance within Technology Facilities environments
  • Laying, splicing and testing of fibre optic cabling, laying, terminating and testing of copper Cat5/6 data & Voice cabling
  • Plan and perform move/add/change requests, ensure timely implementation of changes
  • Create and maintain datacenter documentation, racks design specifications, network diagrams, maintenance guides and other methodologies documentation, ensure documentation is complete and uptodate
  • Maintain and as needed, order and restock supply inventories
  • Monitor and plan datacenter power and cooling capacity
  • Assist Systems Engineers and Administrators in troubleshooting component, connectivity, and device failures.
  • Provide escort services for 2ndand 3rdParty staff in compute facilities. Escort and lead preventative maintenance and critical system repair activities.
  • Determine all hardware and materials required to complete each new build and retrofit project and procure from suppliers.
  • Coordinate logistics (shipping, receiving, RMA, secure storage, and loading dock) with building management. Ensure proper receipt notification and equipment accounting with purchasing team.
  • Liaise with vendors for issues, repairs, etc.
  • Assist in developing or identifying network cable/rack/cabinet installation processes and standards.
  • Establish remote access capabilities in support of IT teams.
  • Conduct facetoface/phone call meetings with the customer technical representatives
  • Maintain security and ensure compliance with security policies and procedures

What experience, education and requirements do you need?

  • Data Center Operations or related field experience is required.
  • Knowledge of Copper and Fiber Optic Testing and Cabling Standards
  • Good level of knowledge about monitoring the data center environment and critical assets
  • Customer service oriented individual.
  • Work involves ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Readiness to Irregular Work Scheduling
  • Knowledge of Network technologies, TCP/IP.
  • Strong hardware platforms and technologies knowledge

Education:

  • Bachelor degree or higher in computer science or information technologies.
