Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and develop accounting and accounts payable team
  • Responsible for sound internal controls, documentation of controls and transactions, and compliance with applicable accounting standards. Internal controls include account reconciliation, subledger aging controls, journal entry logs and variance analysis.
  • Responsible for accurate and timely completion of monthly accounting books
  • Monthly, quarterly and annual SOX compliance responsibility
  • Review journal entries, accruals and monthend general ledger accounts
  • Investigate anomalies and issues, as they arise.
  • Support operational management as and when required.
  • Report accounting information to various recipients across the organization
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Integrity, accountability, and professional and ethical attitude towards the role
  • A team player who communicates well to subordinates as well as managers at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong written and verbal communication in English. Arabic is also beneficial.
  • Experience is managing the accounting function in large organizations
  • Strong at time management and keeping deadlines.
  • Proactive attitude to determine areas for improvement to enhance the organization and its control environment
  • Strong understanding of IFRS standards. Understanding of US GAAP is also a plus.
  • Ability to understand, evaluate and resolve complex problems, including the involvement of others in the organization when appropriate
  • Business acumen and ability to understand the strategic priorities of the business
