The QHSE Manager is responsible for ensuring that the organization's Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental (QHSE) policies, procedures, and guidelines comply with local, state, and federal regulations, and meet the requirements of the company and its clients.

The QHSE Manager will lead and manage a team of professionals to develop, implement, and maintain effective QHSE management systems across the organization.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement and maintain QHSE policies and procedures that comply with legal and regulatory requirements, and meet the needs of the organization and its clients.
  • Conduct regular audits and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and noncompliance issues, and implement corrective and preventive measures as needed.
  • Ensure that all employees are trained in QHSE policies and procedures, and that they understand their roles and responsibilities in maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Conduct safety meetings and training sessions to promote safety awareness and reduce workplace accidents and injuries.
  • Manage the company's compliance with relevant laws and regulations, and maintain records of compliance activities.
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with external agencies and organizations, such as regulatory bodies and clients, to ensure compliance with contractual obligations and to manage risk.
  • Coordinate investigations into accidents, incidents, and nearmisses, and develop corrective and preventive actions to address root causes.
  • Conduct regular inspections and audits of the workplace to identify and eliminate potential hazards and unsafe conditions.
  • Manage the organization's emergency response planning and procedures, including the development and maintenance of emergency plans and procedures, and the coordination of response activities in the event of an emergency.
  • Manage the QHSE team, including setting performance goals, monitoring performance, and providing coaching and mentoring to team members.
  • Communicate regularly with senior management regarding QHSE issues, and provide regular reports on QHSE performance to ensure that the organization's management is fully informed of its QHSE obligations and responsibilities.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as occupational health and safety, environmental management, or engineering.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in QHSE management, with a proven track record of developing and implementing effective QHSE management systems.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and motivate others to adopt safe and healthy work practices.
  • Strong analytical and problemsolving skills, with the ability to identify and address root causes of safety and health issues.
  • Experience in managing and leading a team of professionals, with a focus on setting performance goals, monitoring performance, and providing coaching and mentoring to team members.
  • Relevant certifications, such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), or Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) certifications, are a plus.
