Principle Accountabilities

  • Acts as Project Core Team member, assists for work related to the Refinery revamp project and contribute with other core team members to ensure that the project is completed based on the set objectives and project milestones.
  • Plays a major role for all plant preparations for its start-up including raw materials, spares, consumable, manpower, etc.
  • Plans, directs and manages the day-to-day operations' activities (Production/ blending orders and special products) to ensure that the production targets are achieved within budgeted cost and quality standards.
  • Liaise and follow up with other departmental functions such as Production Planning (including utilities), Maintenance, Quality Control, procurement and logistics.
  • Establishes KPIs for plant operation and personnel and continuously measure their performance.
  • Assists with the implementation of systems such as Standard Operation Procedures (SOPs), quality manuals, product standards, ISO 9000 quality system to cope with modern technology.
  • Coordinates with SAMREF for receiving Reformate Feedstock and the return of Raffinate back to them.
  • Monitor the product tanks Custody and Internal Transfer.
  • Keeps an eye on cooling and fire water system, chemicals treatment in coordination with maintenance to restrict internal erosion, fouling and scaling.
  • Compiles Self-Monitoring Report (SMR) and Consolidated Monthly Report to Royal Commission Environment Protection Control Department (RC-EPCD).
  • Maintains a high safety level in plant processes and personnel through properly established and implemented procedures to ensure meeting safety targets.
  • Identifies operation personnel professional skills, conducts the necessary on job training, appraises their performance on continuous basis and motivate them to maximize their individual contribution.
  • Establishes and implements proper information and reporting system for the dept. to ensure proper records are maintained and used for analytical purposes.
  • Maintaining catalyst loading/ unloading of both the De-Sulfurization and De-Aromatization units, maintain records and evaluate new catalysts technical proposals.
  • Plays an important role in planning refinery shutdowns and turnaround, in coordination with Maintenance Department and Contractors
Required Knowledge, Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering
  • A minimum of 10 years' experience in operation management, of a medium size aromatic and aliphatic solvents refinery with preferable 2 years' experience in Project Management.
  • Should bear a sound personality with good influencing power and leadership competencies.
  • Team player and effective communicator.
  • Should have a good command in English language with good level of computer literacy.
  • Multinational experience is preferred.
