Overview:
To carry out all necessary layout, complex setups, manual and CNC machining. This includes subassembly, tool setting, deburring of parts, dimensional inspections, and final assembly of components as per required specifications in a timely manner. Capable of planning and supervising work with minimal supervision while guiding other employees. Also, able to provide training to other employees on all functions and processes within the department.

Responsibilities:
  • Conducts themselves in a professional manner at all times.
  • Emphasizes safety and quality at all times.
  • Skilled in manual and CNC machining of ferrous and nonferrous materials using vertical and horizontal lathes, milling machines, turrets, and grinders.
  • Proficient in reading mechanical drawings and planning machining processes based on work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, materials, specifications, orthographic drawings, reference planes, locations of surfaces, and machining parameters.
  • Operates CNC mills and lathes effectively, setting tool registers, offsets, compensation, and conditional switches; proving part programs.
  • Sets up CNC mills and lathes by installing and adjusting chucks, tools, attachments, collets, bushings, cams, gears, and other necessary components.
  • Identifies, deploys, and uses inserts, fixtures, and tooling appropriately.
  • Verifies settings by measuring positions, first-run parts, and workpieces; adheres to international standards.
  • Maintains specifications by observing various operations and measurements, troubleshooting processes, and following quality assurance procedures.
  • Ensures equipment maintenance and continuity among work shifts.
  • Evaluates procedures and suggests modifications for efficiency and adaptability to setup and production.
  • Documents actions by completing production and quality logs.
  • Maintains a personal inventory of basic tooling required for routine CNC and manual machining setups.

Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent with 5+ years of experience.
  • Experience with G-Code.
  • Previous manual machining experience preferred.
