From strategic guidance to supporting the day-to-day needs of managers and employees, the Human Resources Division drives best practice across the Alshaya business.

HR is segmented across generalist and specialist functions including HR services, recruitment and talent management. These are just some of the teams that support over 120 nationalities working across multiple brands and geographies. The below Key Performance Areas include but are not limited to:

Strategic Overview:

  • Responsible for setting the strategic direction of the Recruitment team in line with company values and competencies.
  • Liaises with Resourcing Director / SVP-HR around Recruitment Management Information, outlining patterns, trends and making recommendations for improvements.
  • Works closely with the Resourcing Director/Senior Recruitment Business Partner to build the strategic plans for the Recruitment function, providing robust plans around manpower requirements, resource needs and technological requirements.
  • Participates in the business planning process, making robust recommendations around spend and budgetary requirements for AOR.

Policy & Process:

Resource Planning:

  • Work in partnership with Business Unit Leaders, Divisional/Market HR Business Partners to understand future manpower requirements in order to forward plan recruitment campaigns for the division/brand
  • Analyse and devise a recruitment plan for future growth according to the Site Tracking Report (STR)
  • Work collaboratively with Market Senior/ Recruitment Business Partners to plan new store/mall openings, developing and executing a recruitment sourcing plan
  • Lead and manage your recruitment team to devise recruitment plans for their roles
  • Proactively manage agencies to support bulk recruitment trips
  • Ensure agencies are fully briefed so that they become partners of the Company, promoting our values and culture to prospective Employees at the commencement of any assignment.

Stakeholder & Client Relationship:

Team Management & Development:

  • Device the team structure and responsibilities in accordance with business requirements.
  • Provide coaching and development to direct reports to enhance their recruitment skills and knowledge to ensure they meet the longer term business requirements.
  • Conduct regular weekly/monthly 121 meetings with direct reports to ensure full communication of all information and processes.
  • Ensure direct reports complete daily tasks/duties to a good standard and address development areas to improve performance.
  • Conduct formal performance appraisals with direct reports and ensure personal development plans are in place and objectives being actively worked towards.
  • Actively participate in delivering ongoing training to the recruitment teams.
