Job Description Summary

The Regional Operations Leader plays a critical role in driving operational excellence, implementing process standardization, ensuring project execution, safety, quality, delivery, and cost, aligning regional operations with organizational goals. The ideal candidate will bring deep familiarity with systems and key stakeholders, enabling seamless collaboration and effective leadership in various functions.

Roles and Responsibilities

  1. Ensures a safe working environment that complies with applicable EHS, Quality, and Integrity policies and procedures.
  2. Responsible for overseeing project execution and direct or indirect leadership and/or management of project resources for small-medium-large sized projects that may include engineering, site supervision, procurement, and site works.
  3. Interprets internal and external business challenges and recommends best practices to improve products, processes, or services. Utilizes understanding of industry trends to inform decision-making processes.
  4. Manages and controls the execution of the OTR operational activity (products, projects, services) in its area, including improvement of profitability.
  5. Identifies and manages the risks and opportunities of the activity in its geographical area.
  6. In liaison with the Regional General Manager, helps set up an organization in line with the group's directions.
  7. Ensures the achievement of the operational results expected by the group (Operating Plan) measured through financial and operational indicators.
  8. Supports the commercial team in validating offers made by the Quotation department and regularly provides post-completion feedback whenever necessary.
  9. Prepares the annual budget and quarterly forecasts and actions to achieve the forecast.
  10. Develops and manages the execution of the Grid Automation strategic growth plan within its scope.
  11. Supports operational governance across the region.
  12. Manages the business skills and training plan of its teams.
  13. Supervises strategic actions for transformation of the MENAT region.
  14. Directly manages the Technical Support team, Global Supply Chain & Inside Sales, Supply Chain, Quality & EHS for the region ensuring world-class services are provided to customers.
  15. Guarantees the commitment of Operations teams in achieving their objectives and priorities, eliminates obstacles to their work, and uses organizational resources to improve skills, supervise, and train team members.
  16. Supports the deployment of world-class harmonized project management processes, practices, methods, and tools provided by the central Global Operations team.
  17. Provides operational support and guidance for complex and strategic Grid Automation projects.
  18. Participates in discussions about the future of the company requiring frequent and in-depth interaction with other functions.
  19. Leads and develops a culture of GE values and integrity.
  20. Leads the implementation of excellence in the completion of customer projects.

Required Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited university.
  2. 10 to 15 years of experience in operation management, complex project management, supply chain, and multidisciplinary teams.
  3. Proven ability to lead remote team members to build a single, coordinated, and effective team.
  4. Ability to work in international and matrix organizations. Facilitated in interacting with people external to the departments at different levels of the company, including C-level.
  5. Strong business acumen.
  6. Interpersonal and leadership skills to create a team spirit and high standards within the department.
  7. Understanding of the Power market, its customers, and influencing factors.
  8. Good oral & written communication skills in English.
  9. Flexibility to travel.
