The Pricing & Market Access Director is responsible for leading the development and/or execution of Market Access strategies within Gulf Region, as well as partnering cross-functionally with commercial teams. This position is based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Responsible for payer strategic planning to support value and access optimization and formulary inclusion.
  2. Leads development of Market Access strategies and core pricing & access deliverables operating within the Commercial model as well as supporting local value and access optimization.
  3. Ensures the payer position is consistently represented to internal cross-functional stakeholders and ensures robust strategic input into commercialization and development decisions.
  4. Partners cross-functionally to ensure robust value proposition and integrated evidence plans are optimized to support market access and reimbursement.
  5. Supports strategies with deep functional knowledge, in-depth market research, environmental data & analogs.
  6. Works on the execution and negotiation of pricing and access strategy, including the localization of access strategy, tactical execution and pricing business cases.
  7. Supports capability building and thought leadership projects that advance knowledge of and readiness for the rapidly evolving payer environment.
  8. Collaborates closely with HEOR, Pricing & Market Access, Government Affairs and Public Policy, Marketing and Clinical Development / Medical counterparts to ensure value and access optimization.

Key Requirements:

  1. Bachelor's degree in relevant discipline.
  2. 10 years of working experience within GCC market.
  3. Demonstrates capacity to acquire scientific information.
  4. In-depth understanding of the local pharmaceutical market, pricing and reimbursement and outcomes research.
  5. Works to the highest levels of integrity and compliance, adhering to Vertex standards of business conduct and ethics at all times.
  6. Excellent command in reading, writing and speaking Arabic and English.
  7. Ability to think strategically and make sound pricing and market access recommendations.
  8. Experience conducting negotiations with external stakeholders.
  9. Strong practical, quantitative and analytical skills combined with a sound understanding of how to successfully apply pricing & reimbursement / HEOR principles to support Vertex.
  10. Outstanding written and oral communication skills, including the ability to effectively write and deliver presentations.
  11. Ability to build and maintain relationships with local network market access decision makers.
  12. Excellent interpersonal skills to communicate complex concepts and negotiate with others.
  13. Ability to travel within the assigned region.
