The Business Development Director will be a key member of the ALMAD Construction Company leadership team, responsible for identifying, pursuing, and securing new business opportunities. This role requires a dynamic and results-oriented individual with extensive experience in the Saudi Arabian construction industry, a proven track record of success in business development, and strong leadership skills. The Business Development Director will lead and manage the business development team, develop and implement strategic plans to achieve ambitious growth targets, and foster strong relationships with key clients and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities and Duties:

  1. Strategic Planning & Market Analysis: Develop and implement a comprehensive business development strategy aligned with ALMAD's overall strategic goals. This includes conducting thorough market research and analysis to identify new opportunities and assess market trends.
  2. Lead Generation & Client Acquisition: Identify and pursue new business opportunities, including leading the development of compelling proposals, presentations, and bids. This involves managing the entire sales cycle from lead generation to contract negotiation and closing.
  3. Branding & Corporate Identity: Maintain a strong brand presence through websites, social media, and promotional materials.
  4. Digital and Content Marketing: Utilize online platforms, SEO, and thought leadership articles to enhance visibility and credibility.
  5. Relationship Management: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key clients, government agencies, and industry partners to secure repeat business and build ALMAD's reputation.
  6. Team Management & Development: Lead and mentor a team of business development professionals, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure high performance and achieve team objectives.
  7. Financial Forecasting & Reporting: Prepare accurate forecasts of sales and revenue, track key performance indicators (KPIs), and provide regular reports to senior management on business development progress.
  8. Proposal & Bid Management: Oversee the development and submission of high-quality proposals and bids, ensuring compliance with client requirements and internal standards.
  9. Contract Negotiation & Management: Negotiate favorable contract terms and conditions with clients, ensuring ALMAD's interests are protected. Oversee contract administration throughout the project lifecycle.
  10. Compliance & Regulatory Affairs: Ensure all business development activities comply with relevant Saudi Arabian laws, regulations, and industry best practices.
  11. Industry Networking: Actively participate in industry events and networking opportunities to build relationships and enhance ALMAD's visibility.
  12. Innovation & Continuous Improvement: Continuously seek ways to improve business development processes and identify new opportunities for growth and innovation within the company.

Qualifications and Experience:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field. An advanced degree (MBA or similar) is preferred.
  2. Minimum of 10-15 years of experience in business development within the Saudi Arabian construction and energy industry.
  3. Proven track record of success in identifying, pursuing, and securing significant construction projects.
  4. Strong understanding of the Saudi Arabian construction market, including regulatory frameworks and competitive landscape.
  5. Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  6. Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  7. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM software.
  8. Fluency in Arabic and English is essential.
