Overview of the role:

The Demand Planner is responsible for improving the forecast accuracy at the national and branch level to ensure the right stock is procured on time and made available to customers. This is achieved by utilizing tools such as Syncron to monitor demand transactions and taking timely actions to avoid the risk of stock run-out. Continuous stakeholder alignment is necessary to understand business and market needs to maintain healthy stock levels.

What you will do:

  • Review and process Back-to-Back orders with suppliers, ensuring orders are sent and confirmed, and dispatched within agreed lead times.
  • Monitor and follow up on back orders.
  • Conduct risk assessment and mitigation for bulk ordered quantities.
  • Review pending orders overdue for delivery and communicate with vendors about supply delays.
  • Ensure on-time delivery of available stock to customers.
  • Provide ETD/ETA information to customers on back orders.
  • Review technical and campaign parts and order proposals.
  • Manage recall and redistribution order processing and follow-up.
  • Monitor auto-replenishment orders.
  • Review and ensure availability of stocked parts at branches.
  • Follow up on service levels with respective branch representatives.
  • Collect market information, analyze, and incorporate it into statistical forecasting models to generate final forecasts.
  • Measure variances between forecast and actual demand, analyze causes, and recommend corrective actions to the Ordering and Inventory Team.
  • Analyze sales trends for key customers and branches.
  • Monitor stock levels and reordering frequency of key customers and branches.
  • Review Syncron alerts for branches, such as last demand flyer, lead time, demand change alerts, and forecast alerts.
  • Gather inquiry information and analyze to identify part numbers that could potentially increase company revenue.
  • Collect lost sales information from the sales team and take necessary actions to improve availability.
  • Review stocked and non-stocked items, analyze root causes, and coordinate with the ordering team for further actions.
  • Proactively work with the sales team to avoid lost sales or local purchases.
  • Maintain and update parts master data as per guidelines.

Required Skills to be successful:

  • Demonstrated experience developing management reporting packs and presenting to senior leadership.
  • Skilled in problem-solving and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Understanding of agile way of working.
  • Extensive knowledge of inventory management systems and supply chain modules in ERP systems like SAP.

About the Team:

The Demand Planner will report to the Operations Manager and is part of the inventory control team in Global Aftersales at Al-Futtaim Automotive. The team is responsible for balancing inventory costs with service levels as per business recommendations.

What equips you for the role:

  • Bachelor's/Master's in supply chain management, industrial engineering, or equivalent.
  • Around 5 years of experience in the field of supply chain, preferably with automotive experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of inventory management systems.
  • Business development and process improvement skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word/Excel/PowerPoint/MS Projects).
