Job Description:

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Senior Construction Manager - Roads & Infrastructure to join our team In this role you will get to manage all on-site field construction activities associated with the completion of a large project. (Typically a project having 2 to 5 million construction manhours or a total installed cost of $100 to $150 million.)

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Manage the development and implementation of construction plans
  • Manage the inspection and testing materials used in road & utility corridor construction operations
  • Monitor and evaluate construction processes to ensure compliance with regulations
  • Collaborate with the operations team to implement improvements in quality control procedures
  • Lead planning and management of the program and ensure operational consistency across the program.
  • Problem-solving skills in relation to construction on site and wider activities of the project
  • Coordinate with QIC and all existing contractors, and future planned procurement of major contractors.
  • Implement agreed strategies, through delivery of PMP's and other key documents and approaches in accordance with program requirements and accepted best practices.
  • Lead the implementation and application of advanced principles, theories, and concepts, ensuring compliance and consistency across the delivery teams.
  • Contribute to the development of innovative principles and ideas.
  • Facilitate forming partnerships with key stakeholders and organizations impacted by the program.
  • Assign work to employees, oversee, and track the completion of work assignments.
  • Interview and select personnel for assignment as required.
  • Maintain clear and concise work standards and goals; provide training and development; complete performance evaluations, conduct employee counseling, and take corrective action as necessary.
  • Ensure adherence to all corporate, contractual, ethics and safety standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
  • Participate in the development of job safety practices.
  • Prepare the needed reports.

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

  • Degree in Civil Engineering or similar qualifications
  • Minimum 15 years' experience on construction projects, specifically roadworks and related infrastructure
  • Experience delivering underground reinforced concrete works incorporating utility ducts
  • Advantageous to have extensive experience of significant PM/CM contracts.
  • Strong communication skills in English, written and spoken.
  • Demonstrated leadership and management skills.
  • Promote safety and implement safe systems of work
  • Proven experience of working within complex construction environments - Tunnels/shafts and related infrastructure
  • Ability to follow through clearly deliver work instructions in a complex stakeholder environment.
  • Problem-solving ability
  • Ability to work in a matrix organization (dual reporting). Ability to interact with senior-level management. Ability to consult, motivate, and negotiate effectively with client groups, co-workers, employees, vendors, and contractors.
  • Must function effectively under time constraints, schedule workload to meet deadlines, and have the ability to prioritize.
  • Ability to manage effective performing teams and mentor less experienced members of staff
  • Strong contractor management skills.
