Summary:
Identifies business opportunities and develops strategies focused on financial gain and customer satisfaction to increase company revenue and market presence, particularly in the sponsorship and event sales sector. Builds long-term relationships with partners and clients by understanding customer needs, analyzing market trends, and negotiating business deals. Leverages a strong background in relationship building and strategic planning to expand the client base, maximize sales, and ensure the timely collection of payments.
Reporting Structure:
- Reports to Director of Business Development or VP of Sales
- Works with sales teams, marketing teams, and product development
- Collaborates with external partners and clients
- Submits reports to Group Managing Director
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a growth strategy focused on financial gain and customer satisfaction, specifically in the sponsorship and event sales sector.
- Conduct in-depth research to identify new markets and align strategic efforts with identified customer needs in the GCC region.
- Establish and nurture long-term relationships with both new and existing customers to expand the client base and ensure repeat business.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to build growth strategies, identifying and mapping business strengths to customer needs.
- Monitor local and international industry trends to inform strategic business decisions and ensure market competitiveness.
- Identify trendsetting ideas and potential business opportunities by researching industry and related events, publications, and announcements.
- Engage with potential partners and propose business deals, ensuring seamless integration of contract requirements with business operations.
- Negotiate and close high-value business deals, ensuring contracts align with operational goals and maximize revenue potential.
- Ensure timely collection of all customer payments to maintain positive cash flow and meet financial targets.
- Prepare regular reports on business contacts, new customer acquisitions, and sales performance to the Group Managing Director.
- Represent the company at industry events, exhibitions, and conferences to enhance professional networks and identify new business leads.
Typical Background/Experience:
- 7-8 years of experience in business development or sales within the GCC, including 2+ years in sponsorship and event sales
- Previously held roles such as 'Business Development Executive,' 'Sales Manager,' or 'Account Manager', with experience in managing sponsorship and events sales
- Experience in industries like technology, B2B services, or finance, specifically within the UAE market
- Proven track record of identifying new business opportunities and developing strategic partnerships, particularly in sponsoring events and managing client expectations
- Strong negotiation and communication skills, with experience in presenting to stakeholders, focusing on contract development and closure
- Demonstrated ability in developing a growth strategy focused on both financial gain and customer satisfaction
- Familiarity with identifying industry trends locally and internationally to inform business development strategies
- Experience in increasing client base and building long-term relationships with new and existing customers
Education Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.
- Professional certification in Business Development, Sales Management, or related strategic sales methodologies.
- Optional: Master's degree in Business Administration (MBA) or a related discipline.
