Project Outline

Our client in the pharmaceutical industry client is seeking to introduce enhanced processes and handle their data governance more effectively. SAP Master Data Governance (SAP MDG) has been selected for this purpose.

We are being engaged by the client to deploy the first (of potentially several) master data domains with a Material Master data (sourced primarily from S/4HANA) implementation. The project will capture detailed requirements, design, configure, test and cutover the SAP MDG solution into production.

The primary objective of the implementation is to provide the client with the ability to create, maintain, block and delete master data in a governed environment. Thereby enforcing completeness, consistency, conformity and uniqueness and ensuring timeliness, currency and accuracy. The client s ultimate goal is to have a single source of data, which can be trusted and easily used in the business processes and reporting.

Job Title: Master Data Analyst

Job Summary

The Master Data Analyst for a Material Master Data Governance Optimization Project is responsible for designing and implementing material master data governance processes that optimize data quality, accuracy, completeness, and consistency. They must have strong pharmaceutical industry knowledge, material master knowledge, and preference for SAP ERP and SAP MDG exposure to effectively fulfill the role.

Key Responsibilities

The following are some of the roles and responsibilities you can expect to undertake in this role:

Business Process Analysis: You will need to perform a thorough analysis of the current material master data governance processes, identify the gaps, and recommend process improvements. You will also need to ensure that the data governance processes are aligned with the organizations policies and regulatory requirements.

Requirements Gathering: You will be responsible for gathering business requirements from the stakeholders, including business users and IT teams. You will need to ensure that the requirements are clear, concise, and comprehensive.

Data Quality Management: You will need to design and implement a data quality management framework to ensure that the data is accurate, complete, and consistent. This may include data cleansing, enrichment, and validation.

Testing and Validation: You will need to develop test scenarios and perform testing to validate the quality of the data. You will also need to ensure that the data is integrated with other systems and applications, including the SAP ERP and SAP MDG systems.

Training and Support: You will be responsible for providing training and support to the business users and IT teams to ensure that they can effectively use the material master data governance processes and systems.

Documentation and Reporting: You will need to prepare documentation and reports to communicate the project progress and outcomes to the stakeholders.

Required Qualifications

To be considered for this role, you must have the following key qualifications:

Experience in implementing Data Quality and Data Governance around MDM programs

3-5 years of enterprise data management experience

Strong data management and integration experience

SAP Materials Master experience as well as knowledge of integration to other systems

Excellent communication and presentation skills and the ability to interact appropriately with all levels of the organisation

Excellent time management skills with the ability to work independently and prioritise tasks

Proven strong Stakeholder interactions, i.e. communication, negotiation and influencing

Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to understand business and technical functions, process information quickly and assess impacts to data elements

Preferred Qualifications

Candidates with the following qualifications will be given preference for this role:

Experience in the pharmaceutical industry

SAP S/4HANA and SAP MDG exposure
