The Drilling Engineer performs all the well engineering activities within a project or Center of Excellence according to guidelines and processes set out in the Integrated Well Services (IWS) Management System, international and/or local standards and regulations and customer requirements. The role provides technical input to the well construction, completions, well intervention and abandonment phases, from the concept and tendering stage through project commencement, execution and project close out. During tendering phases, in addition to engineering work, the engineer will be supporting the commercial and procurement teams. During planning and execution stages, the engineer interfaces with stakeholders to ensure safety, well integrity and cost effective job execution. The WE ensures the well design and well program is prepared and detailed procedures are provided to the execution team; the WE is a key contributor during project execution providing follow up, technical input, and operational support.

As a **Senior Drilling Engineering Team Leader** you will be responsible for:

- Ensuring all engineering activities are in line with HSE policies and procedures, and drive HSE culture by setting example through safe work practices.
- Conducting business according to Baker Hughes values
- Participating in tender bid preparation process for well engineering input.
- Participating in customer presentations & meetings (may include travel to other locations).
- Preparing well designs, well plans and operational procedures for construction, completion, intervention and/or abandonment of wells in area of responsibility.
- Defining technical services and third party requirements
- Preparing operational time and cost estimates
- Preparing risk register and contingency plans, in collaboration with internal and external parties
- Preparing and participating in peer reviews, peer assists and other quality assurance activities related to the project.
- Communicating effectively with well site/project Drilling Engineers as needed, and making recommendations to engineers to optimize drilling performance.
- Complying with Baker Hughes HSE policies and guidelines as per IWS Management System. Contribute to improved HSE standards by setting example by safe work practices

**Fuel your passion**

To be successful in this role you will:

- Have a Bachelor's degree preferably in Petroleum Engineering or Mechanical/Chemical Engineering with MS in Petroleum/Oil & Gas or Well Engineering.
- Have 10+ years of experience in Drilling Engineering
- Have experience of working with customers, identifying and implementing improvements to increase efficiency and customer satisfaction
- Be a natural communicator, with an ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels
- Have excellent English oral and written communication skills, including ability to synthesize complex topics into clear and simple messages.
- Be proficient in MS office suite, power BI or other analytical tools, well engineering and design software (for example: hydraulics, torque and drag, casing/tubing design)
- Be excited by the opportunity of a leadership role where you are mentoring and developing teams
- Be an experienced problem solver, with a methodical approach to solving complex customer issues
